That is a reasonable solution for the moment. Meanwhile they should find loopholes to work around the ban. I look forward to see that 5nm Kirin chipset at the end of the year.

I'm imagining this involves sharing some IP. Expect MediaTek chips to significantly improve in the near future. Hopefully they will release more source as well.
