On a different note, I'm very interested in knowing the OLED supplier for Sony Xperia 1 II...

Well it's the most feature packed flagship phone of this year but still overpriced.
Nonetheless a great device without any gimmicks and useless features.

This time Sony flagship are really promising. Classic design, wireless charge (finally), headphone jack, micro sd support, and most important for me, camera performance.
Hands down the best one now when it comes to manual mod both on photos & videos, with much improvement in Auto mod as well (several reviews already out).
I can say now Sony, finally its a complete package non-compromise phone. Now the only problem are the price. If my country offer the pre-order with those ANC headphone, i'll grab it. If not, well....
Came from Sony, jump to Huawei (very satisfied). And because of Huawei current situation, might return to Sony, as so much goodness on Xperia 1ii. Kudos, Sony!

However, sometimes the buyer wants like 3.5mm or front firing speakers, could even be both, which those phones don't offer.

Every company has to manage an operating cost. Sony sold more than 13M phones in 2013, yet posted a huge loss. This year, with fewer devices sold and yet there has been a profit. Or a very marginal loss. Companies need to restrict demand and so they put the higher price, and adjust the margin by bundling goodies to play within their ethics.
And for the Xperia 1. Check what other devices costs. Owning Xperia would be a pleasure, trust me.

Joban, 26 May 2020Right...they are sony haters No one buys those phones except maybe s20 ultra.... Ultra probably will improve the quality of images, but for all it is, I'd rather get op8 pro or standard s20+ which retails for 900 these days
