Marvelm, 28 May 2020How do you know there will be a + version ?In India there is 2 verity came along with vivo tws earpod, x50, x50pro.
Cost too much plenty brands at almost 600 eur price offers better specs stats and a SD865 inside.
The biggest selling point stated here is the main camera with gimbal function, phone more likely for video taking. other specs are pretty boring tbh

The pricing of Vivo X50 series can be reasonably guessed based on the pricing of Honor 30 Series, as follows:
Honor 30Pro+: 5000CNY (~$700);
Honor 30Pro: 4000CNY ($570);
Honor 30: 3000CNY ($430).
Vivo X50Pro: 4000CNY ($570);
Vivo X50: 3000CNY ($430).
When Vivo X50 Pro+ joins the series in July, it will be priced at around 5000CNY ($700), depending on what extras it brings to the table.
Android Master, 28 May 2020There were 2-3 articles on Gsmarena just a few days back saying that X50 pro would be sporting... more50MP Samsung GH1 sensor will be forthcoming with another Vivo smartphone.
48MP IMX598, used here for the first time, is a derivative of 48MP IMX689, with improved color filters to achieve higher sensitivity. Not quite at the level of RYYB filter, but still very noticeable. IMX598 has the potential to replace IMX689 to become the 2nd best camera sensor after 50MP IMX700.
Believe it or not, this X50 series (SD765G), if priced right, will outsell similarly priced Redmi K30 Pro (Redmi K30 Pro Zoom Edition) (SD865).
Vivo understands its primarily targeted market exceptionally well and knows how to position its phones. X50 Series is Vivo's response to the exceptional Honor 30 Series which has forced hands on its peers. X50 Series (X50 and X50 Pro, excluding X50Pro+) will be priced to compete against Honor 30 Series. [Honor 30 Series has the most potent presence in the middle-segment ($350-$650) at this point.] How are you going to compete against Honor 30 series effectively if you don't equip your phone with a strong camera system? The involvement of SD865 will negatively impact the price and will not help at this stage. A phone based on SD765G with a good camera system will do just fine when priced right.
[The "peculiarities" of the Chinese market:
- No craze for Qualcomm chips;
- No craze for flagship SoCs in general;
- No craze for AMOLED, (at least compared to most other markets). ]
CristianGMoraru, 28 May 2020ideed, missed opportunity.What missed opportunity?
This isn't their Flagship NEX line
This is a midrange series
SD865 based Vivo x50 Pro+ will be forthcoming.

I wonder what the sensor size of the Imx 598 is.

I'd much rather want them to make the X50 Pro 100USD more expensive and pack a 865 with wireless charging. Nex 4 will come out at the end of the year with some stupid huge display (I'm feeling 6,8"+ which is ridiculous) and nobody will buy it. X series is much better, X30 Pro was a really decent phone, wish they didn't skimp on some features in the X50 Pro.
It's not a bad phone, I will still buy it if it comes on Aliexpress for around the 560$ price, Vivo software is pretty funky and I kinda like that.
FasterJonny, 28 May 2020boi am i disappointed hoped for a proper ultrawide and sd865The vivo X series never uses a flagship processor since 2017 or 2016, I think. If you want a gimbal camera with a flagship processor, look forward for the NEX 4 or 5 if they skip it for superstitious concern. The X series is the experimental midrange lineup since it's there where the Under display fingerprint scanner is first introduced and the NEX series is the refined flagship lineup where the tech is "matured" enough to be made on a flagship.
Can't wait for the review. Very decent phone with special cameras.
