Return cash to the customers OP. Because it's not a quad cam anymore.

Anonymous, 29 May 2020I just bought this phone. I really don't care about this gimmicky fourth camera and I wish One... moreToF sensor is also a gimmick just like depth sensor and macro cameras.

I just bought this phone. I really don't care about this gimmicky fourth camera and I wish OnePlus had added a much more useful ToF sensor than this useless toy.
A bit unrelated to this article but still camera related; I had a shocking realization about phone camera perceptions: My old Sony Xperia XZ3 managed to take a few better daylight pics than my new shiny OnePlus 8 Pro. Looks like I won't believe anymore what people think or write about Sony having bad cameras on their phones. Looks like the problem is that HDR rendering has become extreme and overbearing in new phones, whereas the Sony approach with weaker HDR performance gives a more contrasty, natural look. Pretty shocked to realise.

Adding a "differentiating feature" to remove it after, nicely done OnePlus... As useless as it may be, that's a bad move.

SohailSays, 29 May 2020Well then don't install the update. HahahaThat would be a temporary solution. Most users won't be willing to miss out on new software features that will come in future updates.

A better solution is to wait for a XDA mod/hack that re-enables the photochrome mode. That way you can update your phone without missing out on a hardware feature.

The pigeons by buying this smartphone have also paid for this technology that they will not be able to use anymore, so OnePlus must reimburse them

What's wrong with this world? Who is making all the controversy...? Society sometimes... Hopefully society can fix all its problems with downloadable updates... A more open minded and positive society... I think we can change to that.
