trajcevasilev94, 29 May 2020So no OLED in Apple's future iPad lineup? Stuck behind everyone else. Classic Apple. Samsun... moreAlso Samsung can afford to offer OLED in their devices because they make the displays, meaning they pay a fraction of how much they charge apple, BKK and Xiaomi. They are the worlds largest OLED supplier, so it's piss for them to use it in their own tablets, and anyways android tablets cant compete with iPads at all.

trajcevasilev94, 29 May 2020So no OLED in Apple's future iPad lineup? Stuck behind everyone else. Classic Apple. Samsun... moreiPad Pro and last gens iPad pro's have 120hz displays, don't see any android tablets with high refresh rates. It is simply very hard to get high refresh rate OLED for the iPad Pro's, firstly, Manufacturing good OLED displays is hard. Manufacturing OLED displays good enough for a next-generation iPad Pro is likely to be extremely hard.
For Apple to build an OLED display suitable for the iPad Pro, it'll need to work with its display partner -- almost certainly Samsung Display when it comes to anything OLED for now -- to solve several problems.
First, since Apple moved to a high refresh rate display with this year's iPad Pro models, it'd need to figure out how to bring that technology to large OLED displays while keeping power consumption in check.
OLEDs have been consistently more power-hungry than the average LED models, so a 120hz OLED is even more power-hungry.
Also it is not that apple makes these displays, mostly Samsung does, and Samsung charges almost $100 to $130 per iPhone OLED displays, now imagine how expensive it would be for a way larger display, I would reckon almost $400-550 just for a OLED display. That would make the iPad prices skyrocket, and it is already way too expensive.

Samsung and other vendors are miles ahead by offering OLED and QLED to their Tablets Detachable and or Slim Laptops.

I wonder how well these new iPads with new screens are doing, since I haven't owned another iPad after my iPad Air 2 (which was actually for my mom who passed away already).
Tbh, it's still very impressive of a performer today, but the screen certainly didn't hold up too well with time, with horrible screen ghosting and distortions everywhere. I'd never abandon it though (aside from it's my only remembrance from my mom) because it performs even better than my current Xiaomi phone for modern games.

LG's LCD panels are actually among the best (you don't have to like their P-OLED but my LG V20 looks better than most 2K LCD panels not made by sharp). Good move for Apple.
