Poor sales are due to their poor management in desgin and cheapness to save money on new products. No memory card in new One X and XL,non-removable battery, poor image quality on uploaded contact images as images turn out blury, poor sound quality from rear speakers are just a few to name. These are just a few reasons why Samsung steals sales from HTC. In all three of the above that I mentioned the new Samsung S3 beats the HTC One X and XL as both only have 16GB of memory which is non expandable. They were too stingy to add more memory and too stingy to put in better speakers with higher volume.
Battery life is what they need to improve, sacrifice a little bit of thickness...
Their newest international flagship is not that good,I hope they give their flagship a kickstand and a good battery efficient SoC like the new S4(Tegra 3 or quadcore is still a good thing but I think Quadcore isn't needed,it better if they make the RAM 2 GB).
Expandable storage,User removable battery,Kickstand,Good Design(I bet HTC can do it easily)=Take my money.
I'm not a Samsung fan at all but they are pricing their products reasonably unlike HTC, Sony, Nokia etc... (and of corse apple but that's a different story) That's why everybody is loosing now
Recently I came to the end of my contract on a Samsung Galaxy S2 I had three choices:
1. HTC One X
2. Galaxy s3
3. Galaxy note
When I saw the One X I thought it was a good product but with an amazing Own Goal Scored - No expandable memory slot and also non removable battery. I really can't understand how they can slit their own throat like this. This was a complete deal breaker.
It actually made the choice easier just between the two Samsung devices. I think the SG3 is a good product. and I could easily have bought it. I would definitely have chosen it over the One X beacause of the crazy choice about memory and battery, mentioned above.
In the end I went for the NOTE and really loved it. with regards to the NOTE nobody can say that Samsung Copied Apple in my mind it is a great innovation and shows that Samsung is that little bit more innovative on the hardware front than HTC at the moment.
So not surprised, HTC have some nice handsets. but there all copies of other manufacturers handsets.
HTC used to be hardware innovators.
They are now software orientated.
Although it’s a consideration, we all tend to buy handsets on 2 factors, look and power under the hood. if the additional software works it’s a bonus. if not it’s a pain. but not a primary reason to buy any handset.
HTC sense is good but not a deal maker for a lot of people.
HTC work it out and look at your hardware innovation again.
qwerty's were your strongest point and helped rally techy support round you.
HTC stops qwerty production, techy's move to Moto or samsung. hence stop recommending HTC's. as we all tend to recommend the handsets we use. (unless they are awful)
Obviously there seems to be ample criticism here over HTC recently. Some may be justified, others maybe not. The real issue is for HTC to read between the lines and face up to what is now a formidable competitor, Samsung. I am sure that once HTC will shape up to expectancies then without doubt buoyancy will return to its finances. I am now into my 3rd HTC phone and will most likely not switch from this brand that has proven itself to be truly reliable and durable for me despite my hectic work style. Samsungs are great a lot of the time but not flawless and there's no doubting it, but for me HTC it will remain.
htc blisd, htc xl, htc sendation, htc rezound, oh well if only the htc one x had a memory slot..
I live in Colombia, South America. Everybody in here use BB. This is one of the 2 countries where BB is leader. A lot of people would lije to use HTC phoes, but they don't come in here to promote their products. We see Samsung smartphones, Lg smartphones, Motorola smartphones and Nokia feature phones. We would like to see every phone that we see on this website. C'mon we have the money and we would like to have a lot of phones available to purchase on this land.
Dear HTC, these are the reasons why your sales been f¥€ked up...
1 Locked bootloaders - Don't be too conservative. Be Dev-friendly like Samsung phones.
2 Non- user replaceable battery - People are looking for a higher capacity batteries which you can't provide.
3 Slowly discarding memory card slot - People put a lot of stuff in their phone.
Its a shame about htc ive always been a fan would would buy if they had something interesting to offer. The one x is a great piece of kit but its the gs3 where my money has gone.Samsung just seem to have it right with the screens and performance and marketing. Its better for htc to concentrate on just a few handsets and its starting to show in design and quality. As long as samsung are bashing out what the public want then i dont seean easy road for htc.As for nokia well thats dead in the water with the boring limited functionality
After HTC Desire, HTC have not been on the right track. They could have used Qualcomm S4 Krait chips on HTC One X for international. They're on the wrong lane in terms of developing powerful phones.
Above all, their Sense 4 UI suppose to improve user experience but it's hindering performance.
Geeks go for endurance / storage expanables / performance .. - one x lose to sgs3..
Non tech ppl go for style / user friendliness / bug free- one x lose to iphone
.. so in the end they only target very little users .. some htc fans and ppl who regret buying it .. end up posting everywhere to justify buying the one x..
This is same company, whose stupid CFO or CEO started telling we are not like Nokia going downhill, this company has no innovation and talks about Nokia
Except for Samsung all in Android camp are in deep losses and most of them will leave making mobile phones in few years
I think its the price issue! They simply want too much for there products! Im GS2 user, but I would upgrade it to ONE X, if the price was completable with GS3, now there just the same, so I would rather go with GS3!!
HTC deserved it! Its latest phones cannot compare to other brands like Samsung or apple. poor specs, low performance, high price, bad features like small memory (unexpandable), low battery capacity (unremovable (one x) ) are the main reasons that people don't want to buy HTC's phones anymore
[deleted post]*sneaky whisper* You better be careful with talk like that here. I recently noticed that they've been freewheeling with the deletions.
It is Samsung that always copied Apple. HTC never copied Apple.
What did Samsung Copy?
- S Voice copied from Siri
- Samsung Beam is actually nothing but Android ICS Beam.
- The colourful icons of Samsung copied from icons on iOS.
HTC have their own user interface and style. They dont copy anyone.
I do agree Samsung is the best at making hardware but when it comes to Software and Phone design, its always HTC that has killed them.
The only reason people go for S3 is cause of their strong marketing compared to HTC.
The S3 has the same old kids toy interface like the S2. They didnt even the icons on the S3. Its the most boring interface any android can have.
HTC all the way!!
HTC got to lower the prices, S2 killed part of their flagship. Quality and Value vs Price and Loyality which is why Apple lost market to Android especially in Europe.
