Are you embarrassed that when you switch from one app to the other like switching from video playback in background to texting someone or commenting on Gsmarena, your iPhone reloads the app or freezes the apps since it can't do true multi tasking.
As I said, keep dreaming about these features.
Those features you call gimmicks will suddenly turn into useful features when iOS gets it.

IPhone is top selling since there is no choice in the apple ecosystem while in Android world, there are plenty of choices, hence one phone doesn't produce chart topping numbers as people buy different flagships as per their needs.
And yeah Android indeed is the first choice of OS on smartphones just like Windows is the first choice of OS on the PC platform. Apple lost both the PC and smartphone war.
Androids are true daily drivers when it comes to customizablity, multitasking, full featured functionality, security and privacy in your own hands and just an overall workhorse. It's not restricted and locked down like iOS devices.
Keep using toyOS and justify your expensive purchase.

The long term update system of iOS is a giant scam. You get latest features 5 years late on an average. Android is light years ahead of iOS in terms of functionality, customizability, security and ease of use. Android from 5-10 years back can do things iPhone can't.
Plus with every subsequent update, your battery and cpu are deliberately slowed down by Apple (Yes, they are paying fines for this malpractice) whereby one is forced to upgrade after a few years.
Wouldn't touch that handicapped Operating system with a 10 foot pole.

What matters to us is that our smartphones... moreUnless a group of hackers specifically target you using the security hole or vulnerability (if it exists) which is not fixed through a security patch, you have nothing to worry about. The likelihood of such a thing happening is 0.00001%.
So lack of security patches don't affect the end user in the real world.
Ppl and several businesses used Intel chipsets for years without issues despite the Spectre & Meltdown vulnerabilities. As I said, unless a team of hackers specifically target you exploiting that security loophole, you are safe.
Ppl continue to fall for marketing gimmicks where they feel if they don't have the latest security patch, they are vulnerable or worse the phone becomes unusable after 2 years. These are the same people that can be hacked using a simple phising link and they are worried about vulnerabilities in the system that are less likely a threat.
