because of mediatek Dimensity 800, the Honor Play 4 will turn out to be a much better choice than the Pro version
Dimensity 800 is a good choice for Honor Play 4 - efficient and affordable.
please have 120MHZ screen or this phone just wasted a great opportunity for market segment
Maame Raggae, 04 Jun 2020Both phones are pretty tempting and looks like the pro and the vanilla are pretty neck on neck... moreCPU-wise, D800 will be more battery-friendly, as MediaTek capped the CPU clock @2 GHz, while 2 A76 cores in Kirin 990 are clocked @2.86 GHz, and the other two @2.36 GHz, making it more battery-hogging than D800.
GPU-wise, Mali G57 MC4 in D800 was nowhere enough compared to G76 MP16 in Kirin 990.
BUT, price-wise, it was enough to rival SD765/G, as this SoC was made with performance rivaling SD765 in mind.
The only mid-range Qualcomm SoC worth to buy was still SD660; other than that is half-assed products which mainly sell because of its GPU (a couple of A75 / A76 was crap, compared to 4cores A76 in D800/D820)
finally ... honor do the right thing with honor play 4 pro .... the true successor to the honor view 20 ... only put the put the useful lens on the back and truly focus on image quality.. waiting for global version.
less lens = less complicated algorithm for the phone to figure out the right setting.
Both phones are pretty tempting and looks like the pro and the vanilla are pretty neck on neck. Waiting for reviews
Anonymous, 03 Jun 2020Is it just me or does the vanilla phone sound more tempting than the pro. Well, for 1/4 of a price less, you're getting almost the same device. Bigger screen but worse camera, and GPU.
I wouldn't take vanilla over Pro, but I see why someone would

Amazing Honor. 😇
Y not another Pro+ with best of both phones combined.... big screen , big battery, more black dots.....(cameras daaa) at the back?
