AnonD-15042, 07 Jun 2012Biggest Joke of the year :):).... Windows overtaking android?...How they can post an article l... moreRead the article properly fanboy.
It says WP will overtake IOS,not android...
Android have security problem and not many workplace willing to accept Android smart phone as partner in business because of this reason. However, WP and iOS are acceptable.
IDC's prediction have been horribly wrong every single year. This is likely going to be no different.
seshingo, 08 Jun 2012wow delusions in grandeur epic scaleAgreed... Unless IDC has more insider knowledge about more Win 8 killer apps and features than the rest of us, this is by far the funniest piece of analysis this week.
Highly doubtful. Why Win 8 mentioned you ask? Because MS want s to win this the Apple way. Streamlined Metro across diff screens. x86, x64 and ARM. Not wrong but still lacking desktop Linux' more cutting edge 1 click software update and customizability. And Ars Technica just outed the ridiculous base sys reqs. Win Phone are in effect competing against Win 8 RT (ffs MS??? RT? Really?).
Win Phone "slow" and strict hw specs lockdown, questionable dev handholding and above all Nokia all access over other OEMs.
So far the whope deal aren't being handled innovatively.
Anonymous, 08 Jun 2012So IDC took a 'comfortable' back-hander from Micro$oft to make 'predictions' about a point in ... morefully agree... seems like a compensated report. WP people seem to have have found a sick way to be in limelight... not good.
appreciate windows then say wow.. try lumia then say its amazing. Go NOKIA, i'm a loyal user of your products since i was in high school.
It's just a forecast anyway..and it's really hard to predict..especially that Android is the reason why the smartphone industry is booming. Let's face it. Android has millions of third party apps available for free or at a low price, and it's open-source! While windows phone has limited apps..come on!!
If that happens,i'm not gonna have a cellphone at all.
No offence, but Windows phones are way too complicated, and behind iOS and Android
Only when it has a user interface as WP and functionality as Symbian.
mingguan, 07 Jun 2012Unless Google come out with powerful OS for Desktop & notebook which can integrated very w... moreGoogle I think will not release an OS if ever they do, they'll have a hard time making it original as ever or else Apple or Microsoft will eat them in court litigations.
Not unless they'll decide to buy Ubuntu.
It will only be possible if all phone manufacturer will be releasing WP on a scale the way they did with Android.
As much as I like my Lumia, I have to admit WP has a big challenge ahead of it. Anything's possible (look what Apple did in 5 years) but MS' "three screen" strategy will have to pay off in spades for IDC's predictions to come true!
So IDC took a 'comfortable' back-hander from Micro$oft to make 'predictions' about a point in time so far away that it will have been long-forgotten and the people saying it now will long since have moved-on to 'greater things' in other organisations when it finally arrives... not the first or the last time this sort of thing has happened
Watch the film 'Inside Job' to see how even Harvard Business School produced 'compensated' academic reports (without announcing that they were 'subsidised') of the Islandic banking systmem which encouraged many to invest there prior to its collapse and insolvency
Pretty sickening, really
