Anders, 05 Jun 2020You didn't address my first question. How can you tell the race of the people commenting? Do b... moreSome people in the comments are just really ignorant about the whole situation. From that alone I can tell they are most likely not from American and most likely not black. This assumption only applies to the people with really dumb takes. I feel like the BLM movement has made great strides in separating themselves from the senseless thugs looting and rioting. I've gone to one protest before and if you get caught destroying property you get ostracized from the protest and people start chanting "peaceful protest!". Of course, we can't stop the rioting and looting completely but I feel like the movement has done all it can to prevent it in their own peaceful protests.
Zenmaster, 05 Jun 2020Are you that dumb.? People are not rioting jus cos someone was arrested, but because someone w... moreExactly, it just shows real face of a community. Same people who crying for George death a nothing more than thieves and degenerates. Before you can claim you have no rights or your rights are discriminated you have to act as a human being.
Disgusting, another milking attempt from Apple to use any opportunity to appeal to anyone while country is being destroyed by de.gen.erates, this should be never addressed with such a marketing speech, as obvious it was not written by him but by PR department. Talking about global warming like it is only affecting black community, sometimes is better to be silent when make "money speeches", disgraceful company
Cyberchum, 05 Jun 2020Tell me more. Which group of people are rioting because someone was arrested for committing a ... moreI've seen White, Black, Spanish, Asian, Arabs, and Indians rioting thus far. It just depends on the location. None of it is right, regardless of race.
However, police officers would rather attack peaceful protesters instead of stopping the melting pot of looters, which is a disgrace.
The consequences will be great!
Cyberchum, 05 Jun 2020Yes! At least 80 percent of people spewing here aren't blacks. Just people with pent up anger.... moreBut that certain CEO is a bullshit hypocrite.
All he's done is for protecting Apple's image and his money.
He absolutely doesn't care about black in specific, or about racism in general.
All he cares is how much money Apple makes. That's all.
Black, 06 Jun 2020Hi. I'm black. I don't support looting. Protesting is not the same thing as rioting.
Imagi... moreStatistics show a different story.
Maybe you should give ppl reason not to suspect you.
Maybe you go into ghettos and educate other folks on giving up the crime life.
The biggest enemy is your own race.
Last time I heard, the amount of black folks killed by police is same as whites and Hispanics.
Last Time I heard, the amount of black folks killed by other black folks is way higher than those killed by other races.

Imagine being constantly judged and condemned because of the color of your skin. I dress right, speak well, have a degree, no crime committed, but always hunted by law enforcement because I'm black.
Being prejudice is ok. It really is. Professionalism with a loaded gun is however needed. I actually grew up thinking blacks were a different specie, because of the depiction of the media. It's that bad.
If you are East Asian or South Asian, you'll need a score 30% higher to get into top college/law/MBA program. For most, that means studying for months more.
Yes, there is racism, but the worst affected isn't blacks, it is East and South Asian who are invisible in American politics, American media, American sports. If you speak up, white and black tell you to check your privilege as if being good at school/job is uniquely Asian. And there are the hate crimes. Blacks love to target Asians for crimes because we are quiet and usually don't find fighting back worth it. Asian business are always target for petty crimes and this time lots of the looting targeted Asian business

But yeah as I said my issue is with these billionaires like Cook pretending they care, like you said they only care about money and they say whatever they think will good. They have no moral compass whatsoever.
The problem with the looters and rioters is they claim they are doing it in support of BLM and George Floyd there is also a lot of people online justifying their actions and depending them.
The genuine peaceful protesters message gets poisoned by this unfortunately there is always some selfish opportunistic people exploiting tragedy for their own gain.
Duck of death, 05 Jun 2020If you're paying someone else to do your dirty work, you're still accountable.
Apple knew Ch... moreApple didn't contract Foxconn to do their dirty work; Apple contracts Foxconn to assemble devices for them, unless you are calling assembling of devices a "dirty work."
Want to push blames? Direct it to the Chinese government; the ones that has a duty of bringing up laws that protects the affairs of workers/laborers, while also curtailing excesses of corporations. Then Foxconn, for obvious reasons.
That's what would show that you are rational.

Apple knew Chinese labour was cheap because they use children in slavery like environments. Everybody knew that about China.
Pretending their inspections didn't find proof is the foundation of institutionalised racism.

Are they a monolith with a hive min... moreYes I know we shouldn't trust these billionaires with only money on their mind. But a lot of the comments I'm seeing just scream ignorance and focus on the looting and rioting. Which is not even part of the BLM.
More connected we are, more devided we become.
what an irony.
Condemnation when it is cool and trendy and without backlash is so disgusting to me. People always did that.
Internet just shows that.
I love Apple but don’t like the people in charge. I can say the same about USA
Very dangerous for a borderless, rootless, multi-billion dollar company to start making speeches and moves about politics and world happenings.
Cyberchum, 05 Jun 2020Yes! At least 80 percent of people spewing here aren't blacks. Just people with pent up anger.... morePeople are simply calling out the Hypocrisy of T*m C**k, nothing more.
What he is doing is Selective virtue signaling at best.

Where did I say that people are protesting because someone was arrested for committing crime? Where did I say that it's okay to loot?
I suggest you read the comment I responded to, and then read my comment again, this time slowly so you'd stand enough chance of comprehending It.

The article is about a CEO that spoke against racism in the USA. Suggest gsmarena to write about sweatshops and human rights violation by billionaires, then all you folks could converge here and discuss it.
