If its true. Then i will say bye bye to samsung phone TT. I HATE ads
I will stop buying samsung smartphone from now
Better save my money for iphone :)
That is shocking if true!
Oh, this is big news. To be honest, I was expecting this practice to expand to other companies sooner or later. It will be interesting to see just exactly which phones will get infested with ads. I'm thinking especially of the A5X series, which is a best-seller for Samsung. Will they decide to upset such a large number of customers, or focus solely on the M series?
Now Samsung will have no advantage in the mid-range segment. One could have made a point out of the fact that even though Samsung's phones are overpriced, they didn't have ads. Obviously, that argument is going out the window, unless they will cut prices (highly unlikely) on the phones which will be infested with ads.
Also, make no mistake, the ads will be available worldwide (or, at the very least, in regions where they have a large market share). They wouldn't develop these tools just to keep them exclusive to South Korea. But watching a 15 second clip just to unlock you phone is a complete disgrace and mockery towards the customers.
I guess you can conclude that: overheating Exynos + overpriced phones + overintrusive ads = Samsung Mobile!
Bogdan, 08 Jun 2020Ha, I said and did the same thing after my disappointment with my Samsung S9+ in the past. Sol... moreAt that time, you should buy iPhone X instead of iPhone 8 Plus. Surely, you wont be disappointed. I was just laughing when you were disappointed with S9+, the Top Android phone at that time and you are satisfied with Android phone with ads LOL
Might just replace my phone with an Apple phone if this happens
welp i almost bought their a series (a51) as second phone, looks like i just wait for oneplus z then
Bogdan, 08 Jun 2020I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro for a month now. Global version. Can somebody please tell me... moreI think some of their apps have ads inside them but you can choose to opt out. But so far i haven't seen those push ads that appears on your phone, notification or lockscreen.
Anonymous, 08 Jun 2020Xiaomi's global versions don't have adsThen where is the problem? Why people are saying these things about Xiaomi phones? In Europe stores there are only global versions available.
Don't buy Xiaomi phones directly from China, problem solved.
IQ200, 08 Jun 2020I guess they can't fight against low profit margines with chinese brands overflooding the mark... moreI can agree with you. When there are too many devices launched from different tier, fragmentation becomes worse as you need more work to give updates and patches to all devices. I'm not gonna lie, I seriously applauded HMD Nokia for their super serious commitment about latest software update and security patches. Frankly if I couldn't afford to buy a Pixel or OnePlus phone, I would be knocking on HMD Nokia's door.
It's 2020 and we talk of breathtaking technological advancements, yet here we are ads baked in OS.
I really miss the old Nokia when every new model was a kind of beauty in itself, functionality and features both in hardware and software (yeah I admit the modern processing power, camera improvements and multitasking abilities) but, the Joy and satisfaction is missing.
And now the option to get a decent value smartphone is shrinking among the sea of these slabs of glass.
Mostly due to some "features" such as missing headphone jack and ads at OS level integration.
Getting ads in a phone that I bought with my money. This is absolutely bullshit.
IQ200, 08 Jun 2020I guess they can't fight against low profit margines with chinese brands overflooding the mark... moreHa, I said and did the same thing after my disappointment with my Samsung S9+ in the past. Sold it after 8 months, put some extra money and bought my first and only iphone, an iphone 8 Plus. Worst decision I had done in my life, when it comes to phones. And I bought a lot of phones.
So, if you didn't have an iphone ever before, I suggest to reconsider. Or at least think it very seriously. For an Android guy, iphones are far worst. Is like you have both hands tight behind your back and try to use the phone. Even after my disappointment with the S9+, the iphone 8 plus was a bigger disappointment.
Safe to say, I sold my iphone after just 4 months. I rather have an Android phone with ads than an iphone.
Bogdan, 08 Jun 2020I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro for a month now. Global version. Can somebody please tell me... moreI would recommend unlock bootloader, install TWRP and install xiaomi.eu version of ROM enjoy snappy fast ad free experience.
Just for M and A series phones only? Oh dear, this is something S and Note series users wouldn't worry about.
I have to wait for 15 seconds to unlock my phone bought with MY money.. this is a whole new level of insanety. What if Im in some kind of emergency?? These ppl should be sued for this.
Bogdan, 08 Jun 2020I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro for a month now. Global version. Can somebody please tell me... moreXiaomi's global versions don't have ads
If they really do this it will be their end. I think anybody having to wait 15 seconds before unlocking their phone will sooner or later smash their phone to the ground and never buy a samsung phone again – unless all manufacturers become so idiotic that they implement the same on all phones, of course.
Crappy future ahead anyway.
I have a Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 Pro for a month now. Global version.
Can somebody please tell me where are those ads showing? And I am not talking about the ads in google chrome or YouTube. Those everybody has them.
I see here a lot of people talking about the Xiaomi ads this Xiaomi ads that. Where are they? I didn't see any ads on my phone. And I am using it daily, web browsing, apps, games.
Jaycool, 08 Jun 2020Sounds like propoganda to discourage ppl from buying Samsung... But if true... Samsung will go... moreExactly.
