It's April 2021 and I am a proud owner (am I though?) of a new iPhone 11 with IOS 14 and absolutely no way of recording my calls.
Well, that sucks.

The feature has been baked in to Android since ages in regions where it's applicable under government laws. Heck even Symbian had it. And now it has been rumored that this may not be for users on iOS: https://9to5mac.com/2020/06/10/rumored-ios-14-call-recording-feature-only-for-internal-debugging-likely-not-launching-publicly/.

This is an inherent problem with iOS. While its super fluid and highly optimized, Apple thinks of new features only when its really matters. One of the reasons it provides updates for 5 years as its running behind many of the features already baked in to Android. It however does a pretty good job of providing that new features and know how to market it well unlike android.

iH8allFanboys, 09 Jun 2020No, it didn't and it doesn't(as far as the US goes) I have the note 9 and had it for about a 1... moreSamsung used to have it on Galaxy S2 then after one update it disappeared and subsequently all voice recording apps can only record through the mic. It really pissed me off back then cos sometimes i need to remember something from the call and it really helped.

The government records everything they want without our consent, but on the other hand, they try to limit what we can do by passing some bills, supposedly to protect our privacy, but in fact it's not. It only places more limit what we can do with our life.

I've never used voice recording and I don't currently have a need for that. But I can easily imagine the importance of voice recording, for example a call to your customers, it can serve to remind you of the content of your discussion, or even remind the other about that, for one.

I read recently, here on GSMArena, that the default Google phone app will soon get voice recording. I wonder why it takes them so long to do it.
Just like Google not allowing system sound to be recorded by apps until Android 10. What's the problem with recording calls? Any customer service that dial records calls, but individual users are forced to find workarounds for this incredibly mundane task. Even feature phones from the mid-2000s had call recording!

Maybe they'll forbid you to use the phones' main camera too, because you might be breaching someone's privacy.

It's exactly like someone said in a previous comment: the governments have more and more control over our private informations and activities, while individual users have less and less control over the very same things.

MIUI 8? (2017)_ but, last year, they changed dialer stock MIUI app, with Google dialer stock app (in all phones from mid 2019 and newer with MIUI), because of some law (esp in EU countrys)..
So, how can iOS have that option build in, and not others?

No wonder Android is the OS of choice on smartphones just like Windows is the first choice of OS on PC platform.
No wonder they lost both the PC and smartphone wars.

Zero innovation company can't produce anything new in 2020.
They should just rename iOS to CatchupOS.

So glad to be part of the premium Ecosystem of Android.
So happy to be part of an ecosystem where you don't have to beg for features.

As usual iOS always late to the party.

The 5 year update system of iOS is a giant scam. You get latest features 5-10 years late on an average. Android is light years ahead of iOS in terms of functionality, customizability, security and ease of use. Android from 5 years back can do things iPhone can't.

Plus with every subsequent update, your battery and cpu are deliberately slowed down by Apple (Yes, they are paying fines for this malpractice) whereby one is forced to upgrade after a few years.

Native call recording and other kind of these things have existed on Android since quite a while now.
