I do own as well an 1.5gb phone (a s4 mini), it's my multi remote, because otherwise it is useless...

Anonymous, 11 Jun 2020Lg strategy: we don't want just to quit. We want people to stop purchasing our crap without up... moreYou got that right! My bf bought his LG V30 about the same time as I got my Pixel 2 XL over 2 years ago. The V30 is literally still running in Android 8.0 while my Pixel has been in Android 10 since it was first released. The Pixel 2 XL and the V30 have very similar specs. But since the Google updates the Pixels each month it wasn't long until the LG started to lag, and become a slower performer. While my Pixel kept its level of quick responsiveness. When Android 11 is released soon I'll be 3 full OS updates ahead of the V30. I don't understand why there has to be such a difference in which devices receive an update. But that's one reason I've been partial to Google flagships since the Nexus phones. Some people simply don't care about the updates and some don't even know what a software update is.

Anonymous, 10 Jun 2020Oh what ? I'm using an android equipped with 1.5gb or ram. Still fine. I have a 1.5GB old phone as a back-up... I found your statement hard to believe... And I've kept the phone bare minimum with a clean custom ROM...

They should have gone with Dimensity 820.
Would have made the phone even cheaper.

While G7, V40 or even G8 exist around $300-400, this isn't the better choice, i reckon.

Android ees 8GB ram minimum to be smooth. This phone will be dead slow in a year... what a waste.

                8GB is absolute minimum
12GB recommended (android will only get more ram hungry)
                16GB is future proof.

6GB of ram is dead in the water.

digitaldevil, 10 Jun 2020i bet this 2 years old SOC phone will cost like 2020 phone lolProbably, but the 845 should be faster than the 765G spec wise. 845 is also fast enough nowadays, it should beat the midrange chips if implementated good. Only thing you are.missing is 5G but most people dont want 5G anyway

I wonder how many years of security updates this phone will get. With an older chip, it could be shorter than the 2 yrs LG usually provides?
