Can I buy a redmi 8 in America?
Strawhat, 12 Jun 2020Great phone, but If you add a few dollars, IMHO the redminote 8 pro it is better phone. (Helio... moreI agree but Redmi Note 9 Pro Max is better option than Redmi Note 8 Pro. Battery life and custom rom development will be better on Redmi Note 9 Pro Max. Otherwise both are similar phones. I still doubt about updates on Redmi Note 8 Pro. Apart from heating and no rom development like Snapdragon counterpart, I agree it was a great device to buy. 5000 should be standard on every device of Redmi Note line up going forward. Only rooted phones with custom roms last for more than one and half day. Redmi Note 4/Redmi Note 5 Pro/Redmi Note 7 Pro/Redmi Note 8 have great custom rom support and they still work flawlessly.

A ±15mm phone would be quite nice for many peoples, I don't get what you found thick with a sub 9mm phone, there are tons of everyday life objects we use without issues that are way larger than phones.
It all comedown to how you hold your phone, and not everyone hold it the same way, beside I still don't get how you can hold a phone in a way its thickness is uncomfortable or an issue even with weird ways to hold it, but I can see many ways a thin phone is isn't comfortable though.
You even said yourself that the 9mm phone is more than usable and one under 9mm is better with a case, which probably make it around 1cm thick...
But since the average (at least, for most phones I read dimensions off) is on the 9mm mark, a sub 9mm is thin indeed.
The point is, there are already thin phone everywhere, you even own one, more are coming for sure.
Meanwhile, there are basically none for peoples who don't care about thickness and would prefer a thicker phone with larger battery, more bending resistance, more features, no camera hump, better cooling and cheaper (density is expensive).
There are many peoples who'd get a thicker phone for all those advantages, or even trade thickness to size as there is far more peoples who have issue with modern phones being really wide and tall than there are concerned about thickness.

What are you smoking pal?
Plenty of 3rd party manufacturers and 3rd party apps allow call recording on Android 10.

My a50 is 7.7 i think and that's great and my old a7 (2018) was more than perfect at 7.5. I do not have small hand may I say. I also have just 2 more phones in my house that i never used as primary and don't intend to use as primary: the motorola one macro, which at 9mm is waay to thick, but somehow more than usable and then the black shark 2. 8.8 but it's made out of metal. I wouldn't even be able to hold it in my hands for more than 5 minutes without it's case, which makes it more comfy on hand. So if the xiaomi will be like the one macro, thick but still feels nicely in hand then that will be cool. But if it will be like the shark your point is wrong.
wasox, 12 Jun 2020You can install an app to record calls, you know? Call recording apps are no longer working in Android 10. The problem is on Google because they disable this feature in google services. So even if you install call recording apps, its pretty useless.
See other brands, its possible to make a phone thin (though it isn't a need), with a big battery capacity AND give us dual sim + independent SD card.
Hell it even also have 3.5mm Jack, Infrared, wireless charging, NFC and a FPS for a sub 9mm thick phone...
Then other brands that have none of the above (except NFC and FPS) say they can't give us any of those because their 9mm+ phone doesn't have enough room for that + a large batterie...Sure !

Could you please review the Mi 10 Lite 5G? That one was revealed much earlier than the Redmi Note 9 and both phones were launched on the same day. But, for some reason, the Mi 10 Lite is very hard to find, no reviews, while the Redmi Note 9 is everywhere!

Sadly, Google does NOT understand that is not ilegal to record calls in every single country in the world. For me, it is a nice feature xiaomi phones had, and now it doesn't make sense buy a phone to change software, not all people are into that.
Xiaomi has just became another irrelevant brand, and recently expensive as well.
