PS3 was better in performance than Xbox 360, but was worst in the long run. Also Xbox 360 sold better.
Xbox One was better in performance than PS4, but worst in the long run. Also PS4 sold better.
These differences showed us how much important is the price. PS3 was more powerful but also more expensive at launch. The same scenario with Xbox One.

In that time people buy 2-3 phones.. Yes you buy games and the overall price increases but you also putting more money into your phones when you buy contracts/data plans.

So PS3 had more power especially when you saw games like God Of War, Uncharted and Last of Us. PS3 has also sold more than Xbox 360 now.
PS4 and Xbox One the PS4 is more powerful technically, the PS4 had 8 GB DDR5 RAM whereas Xbox had 8GB but was using slower DDR3.
And once again PS4 sold more than Xbox One.
It was PS2, Gamecube, Xbox generation where the Xbox was more powerful but sold less. PS2 was the weakest but sales far outsold Gamecube and Xbox

On paper clearly, the Xbox Series X is better. But, like the past generations showed us, the better console in performance, wasn't the better all around or better sold (see PS3 and Xbox 360, or PS4 and Xbox One).
So, let's wait and see the actual units and reviews after some period of time.
Games wise, Sony has always had the better titles (imo), but Xbox has the backwards compatibility. Each system with its advantages.
I think the most important difference will be again the price. If it will be +- 50EUR, it will not count, but if it will be more than 100EUR, the more expensive console will have a big disadvantage from the start.

Same w... morePower alone does not guarantee success and your facts are incorrect, game cube and xbox more powerful than ps, xbox one X more powerful than ps 4 pro, but look at the total sales at 108mil for PS 4 and 47 mil for Xbox
digital foundry never mentioned boost mode, so that's incorrect

Face it, the ps5 will be the weaker console this gen.

But, if the price of the PS5 will be 650-700EUR, I doubt that the Xbox will cost 500EUR (Sony will probably know this price too, not to make the same mistake as PS3). So, that is why I said it is a shame.
Being the past price mistakes of both Sony (with the PS3) and Microsoft (with the first Xbox One), the current generation will most likely cost the same, imo. I was just expecting that price to be 500EUR, not 670EUR.

So a good PC + PS5 will enable to play all available games

Pay for all your games and have electricity budget to consider. It's also not portable in any form. It's not really as cheap as you put it.

For xbox it wouldn't be bad price as you can play games from previous consoles, but its not.

XSx is slightly ahead in terms of raw graphics power but eventually the CPU is almost same and ps5 has better SSD and audio. in addition to that, Sony studios are well known to optimize the game better than Xbox studios. plus the range of exclusives on PS platform is the best reason to own a console. so if just a difference of 10.2 teraflops vs 12 Teraflops despite everything else better demands higher price, the gaming industry is doomed.

Still not a fan of consoles with this price. My computer was exactly this price and is still running all modern games. Sony has loads of fanboys, let's hope they are okay with such a high price.
