I struggle to play games like Doom (2015) and Mad Max. Drop in frames, lag after a couple of hours of gaming. So yeah.
Maybe some people have low standards, I don't know. But that card was the reason I sold my PC and bought a PS4. Played again those titles without any problems.
I sold my PS4 too afterwards, because I am not really a console guy, even though I had every console since the last 2 generations (Nintendo, Sony, Microsoft, portables too).
Imo, a minimum graphic card nowadays, will be the RX5500 XT from AMD or GTX1650 SUPER from Nvidia. Which cost around 200EUR each.

[deleted post]While I think this person is exaggerating and possibly a troll, he/she does have a point.
With the current generation of consoles, you will need at least an 1000EUR PC to be at the same level with the consoles.
If the pricing of the consoles will be around 600EUR, is not that bad.
Problem is that consoles are..only consoles. With a PC you can do a lot more things if needed.
So, in the end is the way you look at it. You want only to game, get a console (PS5, Xbox whatever). If you want to do other things too, PC is way better (even the pre built ones).

Europe pricing and components (because I live there). Everything included, keyboard, mouse. And I am being generous here, without monitor.
And don't come to me with a GTX1050Ti graphic card and 350W power supply. I don't want to play Temple Run on my PC, lol. I am talking good PC gaming, because this was the initial discussion. The other guy said that he bought a good gaming PC with 670EUR. I am curious what good means in your standards? i3 processor and GTX1050 card maybe? That is not good, that is barely manageable.
I'll wait..genius.

And the ones who actually do that, have money to spare, probably they own PC, PS, Xbox and Switch combine.

[deleted post]Yet another illiterate! Pick a 980ti in much cheaper price.. Playe games in 1080 ultra comfortably at 60fps and yes 1440p also right on the spot.. which is a 5 years old gpu.. And talking about future proof, games in 2 years from now will be challenging for dev to imply in console because of much weaker hardwares even in the upcoming Q4 in 2020..

I think the prices for current gen and next gen for product differentiate could be ps5 GBP600 / US$700, ps 5 digital GBP500 / US$600, PS 4 pro GBP250 / US$300 and PS 4 GBP150 / US$200, which satisfies all sections of market

I built my gaming machine in 1983 using the shell of a Tandy TRS-80 II. The thing is a BEAST! Just yesterday I booted up the Ultima Online logo from tape drive. After 16 hours of loading and unloading cassette tapes... I had it displayed in a beautiful green monochrome. Get outta here with that 2yo junk box.
