Love the Community, 11 Jun 2020Light is way too ahead of their time but for now, they've been flopping for probably >5 yea... moreThe results show they are not that ahead for what they put forth in mobile photography. Maybe in other areas, but the story here.

MATE 30 PRO, 11 Jun 2020HMD once again is devaluing the name of the great and authentic Nokia brand, that Finnish bran... morea partner pulling out means hmd is doing something bad?????
That sure made sense. And while hmd is not fully living up to the Nokia of old that we love they are at least making an attempt and checking some of the boxes. Doing more than most would have.
Now their next one or two preview devices will be the big deciding factor here.

Really not surprised about partners jumping off the Nokia's ship, it's been sinking ever since they figured out they could sell cheap-ish generic chinese phones with outdated hardware for a premium price.

Kinda surprised they're jumping out of the ENTIRE phone market though... But it's the truth that self-driving cars is more perspective market in the long-run. The smartphone market is startin to cool down as manufacturers are unable to come up with sufficient upgrades over last generations (a little bit clearer 10x zoom here, 5 more fps in games there, but really if you bought a flagship last year there's zero reason to upgrade this year... Less reasons to upgrade = less phone sales), whereas it's beyond any doubt that there absolutely WILL be a demand for self-driving vehicles in the future.

Just work on a balance between sensor size and resolution. We don't need 20 12mp sensors and unless you're giving us sensors larger than 1inch we don't need 100mp.

Build on the 808. Similar resolution and sensor size with newer functions like ois, improved sensor focus, dual aperture, etc.

Considering the timing it's almost as if Light saw what the P40 pro just did and tapped out. In reality I know that is not the case.

Even when the pandemic has started, HMD was already struggling to secure higher tier chipsets. The pandemic made it even worse so the delay is understandable but let's face it, it's not only HMD that's having delays, in fact all of the industry is delayed but the problem is that HMD is currently on the farthest side of the worst case so the pandemic isn't to be blamed here, this case is just HMD being not in the "priority" in the supply chain.

                          No surprise.

Tech sites will bash phones that come without ultra wide and "zoom" cameras.
So none will use this anymore.

In theory N9 should be on pair with 1" camera.

HMD once again is devaluing the name of the great and authentic Nokia brand, that Finnish brand that existed before Microsoft bought it to get rid of it as if it were a used handkerchief. Today HMD is nothing more than a suspicious bundle with dull and boring phones that contribute absolutely nothing to the Android market. HMD is not Nokia.

                                  They should partner with Heavy.
