Anonymous, 11 Jun 2012If you take Iphone 4, Galaxy S 3 and Nokia lumia 800 and see how quickly they navigate and ope... moreOMG! At last, somebody who gets it!
After trying all sorts of dual-core phones, and for the last month, a quad-core one, here i am back on my Desire S - single-fracking-core. It does the job just like the others. Really, i experienced NO difference in how effective i use my phone. On the contrary, my ol' DS is smaller and better built. I can still browse fast enough so i don't grow a beard, play cool 3d games, and have a decent battery life. On a single core. Now start throwing rocks!
The real reason for Android is slower is an old Linux kernel that's been used in Androids builds bat gees what in last Linux kernel builds Android support is back. I believe that version 5 is currently bin built on it!
Real reason for not having multi core wide spread systems by naw is Microsoft and i mean more then 8-16 cores! X86 is an old architecture that bi the burden of compactibility is not efficient. On a other hand ARMs minimalistic instructions set is not big in of for some more complex operations. The best bet is actually Mips witch whose almost destroyed with Windows NT.
To be a fanboy of Intel or Microsoft is actually technologycali devastating!
[deleted post]Windows XP x64 supported, but not optimized, that was suposed to happen in Vista, wich sucked from the begining to the end, until 7 came, multi-cores had a terrible life in terms of usability.
Neither iOS nor WP7 have true multitasking, they don't even need a dual core, only for games so let the multi core for the multitasking.
Intel is just jelly of am ARM success and everyone knows that Intel is currently developing own mobile OS with the king of mobile phone(Samsung) to expand its empire to the mobile world.
good job Intel.
[deleted post]Why are you so mad bro? I smell a severe lack of confidence in your own words. You cannot even compare the ICS running SGS3 to the Lumia 900 in terms of performance. What you can do with WP right now is close to nothing. And don't try to place iOS and WP on the same league, because iOS is vastly superior. Maybe WP 8 will bring a refresh -and I hope so- to the platform, but as of now the crappy OS among those 3 is no other but WP.
And if you call 'fag' to anyone that has a point of view different than yours, that makes feel pity for such a fool. Try to use a nice Android Phone after the flagship Lumia 900. Unless you want to sacrifice all functionality for the sake of a minimalistic UI, you'll see. And come with any argument instead of saying "fag, faggy, faggot" like a parrot.
Muscatv1n, 11 Jun 2012You obviously do not own a dual core android device. If you did you would notice that ICS has... moreTrue. i own galaxy nexus and battrey life up 20 hours.
Ever think its the app development???Most are not optimized for multi core. Try turning off one core and you will see a major difference in performance, yes not all chips are equal but saying your single core will out run a tweeked and properly scripted multiple core phone means ur on crack
the pics you've posted are very old and the results are not correct anymore! Galaxy S2 has ICS and results are totaly different Sunspider - 1800 and BrowserMark - 108 000....
What Intel know about Android???
Still NOTHING!
Yeah, Android should've perfected the dual cores before coming out with quad. They're moving things along too fast such that no new technology is allowed to reach its full potential. It's as if everything is constantly in beta. I wish Android would back off and release on tech advanced phone per year, like Apple.
Intel is doing their homework with a single core trashing Dual cores.
Die hard Android fans just brags about the Ghz of their cores but very INefficient.
I have the latest QUADCORE phone....
Intel: wait till we launch the dual core for androids....It will be 500% more efficient than the current Quads.
Better yet... Intel should also make one for Windows phone for whatever vendor.
It's better to have more cores that spend les power then one bigger!
4x A7 cores are faster then one A15!
4X1.9=7.6>1X3.5 so more then x2.
4x64 bit neon =256 > 1x128 bit so x2.
One A7 core is inoff for most things so ather 3 can rest in deep sleep! A7 is about 3x power efficient compared to A15! That's more then in of power for phone (around 20% more then S4 dual core) with 3x power efficiency compared to same S4 at least!
I hope that yo will agree with me that more cores is a good thing!
all i can say that when Intel / Nokia will reach the market share of Android they can say whatever they want until then all they can do is stay low
cause Atom CPUS are sure not like the Cortex ...
Intel CEO's right I think.
Its all a quantity war, where I'd better appreciate quality.
Give me 1000 quality apps, rather than 1 Lac advert-supported non-optimized apps... and I'll be happy.
FO2, 11 Jun 2012What makes a device successful my friend is not the number of cores but the build up of the de... moreI understand what your saying but these tests with the htc one and x have not been optimized for quad cores as of yet so I cant belive these result will stay this way for ever give the OS some time to update and see what happens, as for my arc s it runs fine even with ics but not as good as an SII and as for Nokia and there os lol enough said. I will alway read up befor buying a phone but specs will always play a big part in future.
No matter what, at least I have quad core using ICS, it's real on my han, not b*llsh*t statement only :D
Zola , 11 Jun 2012It's true that Android is behind iOS and Blackberry OS in multi tasking! Bat after all it's Li... morewe need new battery technology first!!!! please think what happen to $100000 phone without battery :D
Muscatv1n, 11 Jun 2012You obviously do not own a dual core android device. If you did you would notice that ICS has... moreMy galaxy s3 dies faster than my previous iPhone 4.
FO2, 11 Jun 2012I will only fault the OEMs such as Samsung and HTC who actually came up with this multi core c... moreAs an Sony Xperia arc s onwer I will disagree with you totally. I thought the same as you because I read loads of comments about people saying duel cores are no good and its too new tec and they cant use its full potential, so I went for an arc s over a SII and I regret it big time. My friend has a SII and it out performs my arc s big time. Give me spcs and power any day because 99.9% of you dollys on here don't know what your on about trolling these sites.
