Why release it at all ?
Just launch pixel 5 with 5000 mah battery and usual camera, processor etc...

Phone is ready to ship, doubt the delay is not market conditions but serious phone problems instead.
Google will loss potential customers like me.
I was waiting for this phone from May.
for further delay, I will go for One Plus Z/Nord
are launching a phone or playstation5
AhmedSLL, 16 Jun 2020This phone is going to be way behind competition by October, I hope they rethink the pricing, ... more£349 for a phone that has the best imaging in the class, and likely for those above that mark. You want power and speed, but don't care for cameras, there are better options. You want great stills and decent £349 performance, it is not a bad deal.
potato4k, 16 Jun 2020Google doesn't care. - they make money from ads, not from selling phones - WFH during covid ... moreIts true...I get your point....they totally have nothing to lose...
Man, I want this phone. Other Android devices are just waaaaay too big.
To much delay on this If I were them I would lunch the pixel 4a XL instead with dual camera to be some how updated upon market release.

Mostly sure now 4A will be a 5G phone with SD765G and will probably carry an improved main or ultrawide/telephoto sensor.
This phone is going to be way behind competition by October, I hope they rethink the pricing, 349$ was barely acceptable at the expected release date.
Delaying the pixel 4a will be a big mistake by Google. In india there is no good midrange phone with excellent camera qualities at the moment and it is a perfect time to launch this device. If nokia 8.3 launches now then it will be tough for Google
dbjungle, 16 Jun 2020The 5 is projected to cost twice as much as the 4a. $699 vs $349, going to target 2 totally d... moreGoogle is still selling the 3a.
dbjungle, 16 Jun 2020Pixel 4 doesn't have a fingerprint scanner. This is a deal breaker for some.Again, Google doesn't care. People who wanted fingerprint scanner can either buy the 3a or other Android phones. My point was Google doesn't really care about selling phones. Their main revenue is from ads. The phones are just there to milk out the hardcore fans. Thus they can delay or even cancel the 4a. Any other phonemakers (like Apple, Samsung, etc) wouldn't be able to just delay/cancel phones like that (eg. Apple was pushed to keep releasing the 2020SE despite the pandemic).
potato4k, 16 Jun 2020You probably got a point there. I mean why bother releasing 4a and the 5 around the same time?... moreThe 5 is projected to cost twice as much as the 4a. $699 vs $349, going to target 2 totally different consumers.

Hassan90, 16 Jun 2020Google will cancel the 4A and release the two midrange phones, Pixel 5/5XL by October. You probably got a point there. I mean why bother releasing 4a and the 5 around the same time? Might as well release the 5 only.
Noir, 16 Jun 2020What's wrong with Google
... do you even want to release the phone....
...which one is dela... moreGoogle doesn't care.
- they make money from ads, not from selling phones
- WFH during covid probably also affects all their contractors related to the phone release
- those who really need a Pixel phone will be forced to get the more expensive Pixel 4, more money for Google
Google actually has nothing to lose whether they release the 4a or not.
