While I'm impressed that Apple is debuting their new iOS I've yet to hear about any performance improvements; therefore I'd prefer to stick with iOS 13 until the bugs are ironed out on 14. Is there a way to avoid downloading this new iOS?

Google trying to fix there own google app since 2 weeks through updates and still crash with ever update!, you guys don’t have even proper version of android for android tablets, no proper apps that developed for android tablets only stretched apps lol, 80% of android apps still can’t benefit of new aspect ratio of the latest android flagship, android so fragmented, apps quality still not in par with iOS apps due to the fragmentation, lack of software optimization and hardware can’t achieve all hardware potential, bad resale value after 6 month of, security patches cause some issues with android phones like screen burn in, overheating and laggy performance, camera API nit as good as iPhone camera API, lot of bloatware can’t be uninstalled even though Apple gave an option since iOS 11 to REMOVE unwanted apps no only disable and still runs in background like android, and last and not least since android written with java old emulator it will never runs as good as iOS that written with advanced c++ and android they’ll keeps adding more ram due to the lack of optimization of android OS and this one of main reason why google going to ditch android for fuchsia OS.

Apple guys were the ones echoing the grapes are sour sentiment, when their iOS lacked these features.
They said it was "gimmick" or not useful or "not many ppl use it".
Hiding behind all that fakery and lies to cover up their shortcomings.

Have been saying this for a while now.
The upcoming iOS 14 will finally get an app drawer and fully functional widgets, These are things that existed on Android a decade back.
The 5 year update system of iOS is a giant scam. You get latest features 5 years late on an average. 10 years in this particular case.
Android is light years ahead of iOS in terms of functionality, customizability, security and ease of use. Android from 5 years back can do things that current iPhone can't.
Plus with every subsequent update, your battery and cpu are deliberately slowed down by Apple (Apple paying fines for the same) whereby one is forced to upgrade after a few years.

Non root versions also available.
NewPipe is also good for pip or background playback.
The guy simply can't accept that Android did these things way back.

Android has won the OS of choice award every year in the past decade.
