It's the law of RISC based architecture(like ARM): by making the systems, apps, or games lighter, you achieve higher. Efficiency makes up for performance.
You see, it's different from CISC based architecture like Intel & AMD, which are performance centric.
People might be unhappy, but they just need to understand.

Nobody is willing to pay more for way less, and probably softwares like adobe will not allow old licenses to be mirrored on ARM maschines (if they even bother to develope their software in this regard). Apple might grow a bit in the selfie Stick comunity, i do not know how well will they fair against microsoft in Enterprise, Public Service, and pretty much in any other business that needs computing, hack, even gaming. But will see. Even if they manage to do it, it is as always "by Apple" another stolen idea...

i cant ever see myself getting a mac over windows.However, this is huge if it can run ios apps and appstore natively.

Mac on ARM will be like an iPad pro with keyboard in a clamshell shape. Then it will follow the struggle to make it operable without touch screen so that to sell the iPad as a tablet. People will wish to run the Mac Book apos on iPad but in vain, blocked, inverse yes because the MacBook will cost more money than an iPad. Finally, the evidence will be obvious that ARM on notebook is slower than Intel and lots will beg Apple to transition back as they did with PowerPC. The King Intel rules the laptops and the clown ARM jokes on the phones with 8 cores.

I am imagining what a fully fledged AAA PC game on ARM Processor might look like, if given proper optimisations.
Given Shadow of the Tomb Raider just ran on 1080p 30fps on non native emulated code on Apple A12Z which is mostly a 2018 5W Tablet SOC.
Impressive stuff!!!
X86 Dinosaur needs to go extinction.

One of the more interesting moves Apple have made recently in years. Due to Intel and AMD's stagnation, Apple had enough. They're stepping into the game. Hopefully Apple will force software developers of MacOS to recompile their software from X86 to ARM otherwise emulation is used.
