The long and short of it is, the Pixel 4a will have a much better camera and nearabouts identical specs (but about Rs.5-8k more in typical snobbish Google fashion) however, the OnePlus Z will be better looking and will be marketed & advertised to death in India as all OP devices do leading to it outselling the Pixel 4a almost 4/1 if not more.

[deleted post]I mean sure, stuff will always cost at least 20% more here because of the customs/VAT, but anything over that is pure greed. I doubt adding reception for 2 LTE bands adds 100 dollars to the price tag, it's really just 'specific market pricing', ie Europeans are generally richer so they should pay more.

Before it was Mhz race, then it was pixel race, then screen size, now cameras on the back...many now prefer sticking to one camera each on front back, holdable 5inch camera, with lots of memory. Give that or sell some thousands to tit-tok kids.

CompactPhones5ever, 23 Jun 2020If the specs are correct (especially the SD765G or uquivalent mediatek + 90Hz screen), it soun... morePricing will be interesting. I mean the Poco F2 launched last week in UK and it's on a flash sale at the moment . £480 for the 6GB/128GB on Amazon then it goes back upto £529 . I think import taxes, band 20 and global version makes Chinese phones that have a global release in UK and Europe so expensive

irony is, ones OP used to be a flagship killer, now they have to launch another flagship killer, to kill their own own flagship.

If the specs are correct (especially the SD765G or uquivalent mediatek + 90Hz screen), it sounds like a great deal for Indians at 300 usd, but in Europe I assume the price will pass 400 usd mark, at which point it's kind of meh deal, especially since you can e.g. LG G8s (Snapdragon 855, IP68,...) for around 349 eur here.

Still, could be a nice deal for OxygenOS fanboys on budget, waiting to upgrade their old OPs
