One has to think how many more features iOS will get during an iPhone OS upgrade cycle which is 5 years. For example my iPad Air 2 has literally transformed from the iOS that was launched and despite so many upgrades it still continues to perform well and to be as usable as the very first day of purchase.

Interesting privacy policy and feature changes in iOS. These privacy loopholes should not have existed in the first place. I respect Symbian and Meego for designing their OS with privacy and security in mind from ground up.
Just glad to see Apple doing something about it, although not fully there yet. Hope Android follows. This Duopoly of OS has really hurt privacy in the past decade.

Please remember what i say.
What suits your preference, suits the better.
What suits your needs, suits the best.

There's no need to force people to agree with you.
What's better to us, might only be better for ourselves.
And what's better to them, might really be better for them.

Anonymous, 25 Jun 2020No they don't. And you would even know since it's 2020 and not 2025. But history indicats that... moreHistory indicates? Lol.
Look at windows, it was very smooth and stable experience with 4-8gb RAM not so much in the days of 512mb RAM.
Even though modern windows pc runs at 16gb or 32gb RAM, for the most basic user/gamer, 8gb RAM is enough.

Same way in Android, a 4gb RAM phone performance was way better than 1gb RAM ones.
12gb or 16gb RAM don't provide huge advantage over 8gb RAM Android phones.
Most budget 200 dollars and above phones are coming with 6gb RAM as standard.
So they should do fine in 2025 with 6gb RAM, it's not going to lag suddenly.
No heavy duty app or game requires more than 6gb RAM.

Latest Android 10 runs great on 3-4gb RAM without any hiccups. The OS never got heavier to slow down the system. Lower than 3-4gb RAM variants are almost non existent now unless you are looking at entry level category.

Android Master, 25 Jun 2020You guys are really hilarious. Why would I downgrade to 4.7 inch 720p screen that is running ... moreSo not true about choices. No Android flag ship has everything, so you're spending a 1000 on one that doesn't.i know I did because that's what I though had almost what I needed

Apple you don't have a choice but the hardware is pretty great compare to most Android's.

When it comes to iOS if only they had a full file management for all apps . I would just ignore Android and switch.
IOS is pretty advance compared to Android regardless of what Android geeky people who have not tried it think. I use both on daily basis . My main is a galaxy s20 , which I upgrade every year . I agree I hate the design and might go with the note if it looks better giving that they put an ad card on the none plus and keep it small. I like Samsung software to other Android version. Vanilla Android sucks.
My iPhone is an X which I got in 2017. I would upgrade but it's not my main and it's working great.
Other than files , most browsers suck on iOS, safari is good . But I want to use another, since i use a chromium based one on my Mac.
Chrome is good but I hate the interface which is about the same as the none stack in Android now, again I hate it on Android too , so no longer using chrome.

Year after year. I'm just waiting for apple to make file management a thing. And not the crap file app they did. It seems iPadOS has it. Once that's done. I bet I would not need an Android at all.

SizN80, 24 Jun 2020Indeed,the android kids should be happy because they will finally get some decent widgets now... moreIt doesn't matter, developing for Android is different than developing for iOS. If your doing native . I don't know if you can develop a widget using a theirs party stack.
But apple having widgets doesn't do anything to Android ones.
Also, news social media , email , fitness apps all have the same style and widgets apple showed , so nothing's is changing . Others apps just try so hard when you don't really need a widget.

SizN80, 25 Jun 2020You would not be in this topic if you were happy with your Android :Â’D that is a fact. ... moreYou guys are really hilarious.
Why would I downgrade to 4.7 inch 720p screen that is running a 3rd grade Operating system?

In the last post you call yourself happy iOS user, then why are you so triggered by FACTS About iOS?

Maybe you are accustomed to using cheap quality HW from Apple (bendgate, antenna gate, etc.).
I am not, I only prefer premium quality HW.

Best part about Android is that I can choose a different Android flagship in the event of something not living up to the mark like ugly S20 design.
You have zero choice in that department.
But then prisoners never have any say, the Prison guard decides what you get.

How does it feel to spend 1000 plus dollars and yet have no say in what you want?
I get exactly what I want when I spend my 1000 plus dollars.
In many cases, I don't even have to spend 1000 dollars to buy something which is head and shoulders above anything iPhone can offer.

Be glad iOS is going to help fix the mess that was android widgets and PiP. Hopefully they will finally be usable and consistent on android as they are straight away on iOS. :)

Unfortunately not much can be done for the lesser payouts developers get on android or the lesser quality of apps on android :/
But you could just save up and buy yourself an SE then at least you will get true high performance:

Even Android 10 years back had better widget experience.

So glad to be part of the premium Ecosystem of Android that provides users a polished experience with widgets and doesn't compromise on the functionality front all the while offering consumers a buffet of choices to choose from.

Android widgets have been pretty crappy and stale for years, nothing like Smart Stack exists in android :’D

Picture in Picture mode in android has been a hot mess, various tier of it in different phones yet none really as consistent as what Apple has done in iOS 14 :)

Android will always have to learn how to make proper quality from Apple.

All those 100s of Android of manufactures always need to wait for Apple to perfect the features they put in their androids in such a poor manner.

Why would you compare an HTC widget that is running on a phone not made for it? On jailbroken software? Desperately grasping at straws I see :’D

No wonder they took 10 years to deliver widgets since subpar operating system can't handle basic widgets without lagging and stuttering.

They don't lag at all.
Only frame drops during games at high end settings.

Great to see Auto-Correct for Irish finally added! Also, on a side note; the language is called "Irish" or "Gaeilge". No one in Ireland or who speaks the language calls it "Irish Gaelic" :)
