what wow, 16 Jun 2012i know. right ? nokia is a sinking ship and everyone thinks a few buckets here and there will ... moreHahahaha. I would never buy a nokia with android. Android needs too much resources. I installed ice cream sandwich on my n9 and I didnt like it. But then again thats only because meego is better. Seriously compare a symbian and an android with the same specs and you will see that symbian outperforms it hands down. Single core android cant handle 8mp. Can you just imagine the specs of a 41mp android phone? It could compete with my alienware. Dont even get me started on crapple.
I hope it is an announcement for the 808, Symbian Belle is the best OS, who cares if there aren't a million apps available its not like anyone can ever put so many apps on there phones, What Belle provides is sufficient and most importantly all there apps are tested and work perfectly, unlike android and ios where 80% of apps are garbage and dont even work the way they promised. And with regards to the processors, Belle isn't a power hungry OS so there power is sufficient, where android and ios are power hungry and have dozens of apps running in the backgroung that cant be closed. Another thing is the stability where android is so buggy the phones cant consistently stay on without crashing. The list goes on where symbian provides apps and features that people actualy need and use like FM Transmitter, ability to create folders and sending and receiving via bluetooth which iphone cant even do (pethetic), I just dont know why people cant see the clear Power and leadership of Nokia the original inventor of the smart Phone!!!
Nokia fans are so out of touch with the modern world, it's sad.
You are still stuck on QWERTY keyboards and bluetooth transfers.
You think Nokia's cameras can compare to DSLRs, oh, how sad, Nokia brainwashed you good.
AnonD-36830, 17 Jun 2012The fact that your N8 was stolen says something--your your phone is damn good! :Di think the thief probably dropped the phone in the first trashcan he could find after realizing what he had stolen. :))) And he probably did the guy a favor by staling it :D
AnonD-55045, 17 Jun 2012Killing Meltemi is the rotten cherry on top the cr@p pie. Since Elop came in, it seems like hi... morewhen we look back Symbian isn't successfull platform why? because in that era only Nokia offer good hardware so people buy nokia symbian because hardware not software + nokia marketing fooling us. and only few developer make native Symbian apps & games. many apps & games still on java :D
I agree with sam. a nokia phone will never feel old, Nokia have that special touch that makes there phones overall very good. new android phones come out all the time and they are always same old crap.
AnonD-55045, 17 Jun 2012Killing Meltemi is the rotten cherry on top the cr@p pie. Since Elop came in, it seems like hi... moreI agree. All I ever wanted was an upgrade for my n900. When I bought ma n9 I fell in love with it and only wanted a n9 with a keyboard. Now my only options to get a powerful qwerty phone is either motorola droid 4 which I may hav to unlock since it doesnt support gsm or the samsung captivate glide. Is it so hard to make a qwerty meego...
very unfortunate..... I've been using nokia for the past 10 years.... and I just ordered the Galaxy S3.
Nokia, I tried to hold on but you're simply not delivering.
AnonD-12237, 17 Jun 2012this is a breakthrough invention. 41mp cam, rich recording. No phones can come close.Yes it's a breakthrough but this phone is too expensive and we can even buy 550d in this cost, my advise is please do not spend money for this crap or try other high features mobile like iPhone or android even s100 is cheap than this mobile. In my point of view this is a basic camera with 3G and wifi
[deleted post]Killing Meltemi is the rotten cherry on top the cr@p pie. Since Elop came in, it seems like his only goal is to deliver Nokia to Microsoft, on a silver tray and with sparkles on it. Call me paranoic if you want, but as I see it all this Nokia suffering is simply a Microsoft's homebrew dirty strategy, to claim ownership on one of the greatest OEMs in the history of mobile technology.
And that's plainly sad. Microsoft's culture and values are by far a bad influence to Nokia's responsability and commitment to deliver the best products and services to their customers. There are many fishy spots on Nokia's strategy:
A. Dropping Meego (and with that important partnerships like Intel's and Samsung's, along with the good will of a full community of devs, which partially explains the slow development of the Tizen project and the lack of more Meego apps), despite the fact a sequel, or some sequels, of the N9 could have brought.
B. Marriage to Microsoft, and hence and instant refusal to make Android phones (sorry Android haters, but this could be a good backup now). That level of commitment was NOT necessary. Microsoft wanted to bring that awkward OS to life, but for that there was no need of a special commitment with any OEM. Samsung and HTC were already showing interest in manufacturing Windows phones. An strategic alliance with Nokia (not exclusive) was enough to be covered.
C. Killing Symbian in the long term. Do I even need to say why this is wrong? In a moment where every big player wants to develop their own successful mobile OS (Bada, Tizen, even Facebook showing some interest), Nokia is dropping one of the most successful platforms yet. For the sake of what? A third-party OS. Really, what's the point on that? I don't really get it.
So, Nokia could be right now manufacturing Windows phones, Android phones, Meego/Meltemi phones, Symbian phones, developing Carla, Donna, Elle, Fredda, Ginni, Hanna, ..., Whatever. So, as a wise investor, Nokia would have their eggs in different baskets, and if one line doesn't give the expected returns other could cover it.
Instead of that, Nokia has put every single egg on the WP basket. Why? Why burn all the escape bridges before you just when going to Neverland? WP has never been a solid bet. It's simply a coin toss. People will either love it or hate it. Now the project is not delivering the expected results and there's no last resort. Except for, oh wait, taking money from Microsoft. At this pace, Nokia will end up being a simple Microsoft's subsidiary, with no factories, no OSs and no phone designs of their own. Their existence will make sense only if Microsoft decides so.
What leaves a bitter taste in my mouth, like if I had already eaten that cr@p pie Elop has put so much effort to cook, is that not only Microsoft wants to acquire Nokia, but they want to buy it cheap, like for peanuts. And Finland will lose one of their emblematic enterprises just for the greed of a bunch of powerful people. For me Elop is an intruder, a spy, a rotten apple, a trojan horse, a guy sent buy Microsoft to tear Nokia to pieces, just to get it in a street bargain.
/nuff said, rant is over.
hahaha,who cares anyway?!
Mini Me, 17 Jun 2012This is probabl he best comment i have ever read on GSMArena! Unfortunatly , I Totally agree w... moreNokia is waiting for Windows Phone 8 to make a super phone. They will be the king of Windows Phone. They already have many exclusive apps for Windows Phone and more coming everyday. Windows Phone doesn't freeze or crash daily/weekly like iPhones and Android. IMO it's the best OS right now even with some limitations. Windows Phone 8 will be the differentiator.

Anonymous, 17 Jun 2012You are dead wrong. Any modern DSLR beats this phone camera flat with less pixels. 41MP of gar... more"Garbage"? That's a garbage comment.
This is so stupid. Ever since Elop is in charge at Nokia they made it their focus to enter the USA market, a market where Nokia was never very popular, not even in the old ( pre 2007) glory days of Nokia, when they where absolut kings of the phone market.
Now they hired an USA CEO and he changed NOKIAs strategy making USA their main focus, moving almost all the uropean factorys to Chona (the exact model of USA companys), and alianated a lot of European users y doing so.
It`s so sad that the best Phone company ( in the eys of many) has come tothis stage where it has to stay afloat to barley keep itself alive. It`s even sader when ou knowthat they had the winning phone that almost no one wasrealisticly hoping that Nokia can produce to became relevant in this new Touchscreen mobile era. They produed the N9 wich was praised by absoluty all reviwers, ot had both stunning looks ( exterior and OS ) and a beautiful versatile OS (MEEGO). It`s such a shamethey did not back this amazing OS with all the power that Nokia has; instead, they chose to put their companys future 100% in Windows Phones hands witch is very risky to say the least.
AnonD-58835, 17 Jun 2012Nokia 808 PureView is the best phone on the market, it is a beast. It takes photos better than... moreYou are dead wrong. Any modern DSLR beats this phone camera flat with less pixels. 41MP of garbage is nothing compared to 15MP of excellence. Understand your facts first.
