Also for their Alpha/Cybershot ....
But AF speed and accuracy is up to how well software is done.
It can do pretty well or not, no matter the type (PDAF, Hybrid or Dual Pixel).

Besides, when a phone made for gaming it will have better performance even if it uses the same SoC.

I hope they'll put a Laser AF system in Note 20.
Actually the LAF should have been present in the S20 ultra in the first place, all other 108MP sensor users included one.
Don't know what Samsung was thinking.
Anyway if they could manage to put hybrid AF system in Note 20 ultra like using PDAF with constrast AF like the NX1 camera(which was one of the fastest+reliable AF camera at that time) then It will be the best. Because LAF isn't much of a help when it comes to videos.
So,
WE WANT HYBRID AF SYSTEM(CONTRAST+PDAF), SAMSUNG.
Samsung strategy:
1. Ship broken hardware in flagship
2. Fix broken hardware in next flagship
3. Charge Extra
4. FU consumer
A 108mp sensor workout dual pixel focus taking just a little longer to focus than a 12mp dual pixel sensor?
YOU DON'T SAY
AnonD-754814, 29 Jun 2020I don't think Note users buy ASUS ROG phone. Besides Note 10 sale was great. By your comment ... moreMost of the people who would've buy the Note 10 are into the latest processors regardless. They were disappointed that the Note 10 didn't ship with SD855+ so they went to RoG Phone 2 as it was the first to use the 855+. Real Flagship users rather get the more powerful chipset and more complete features. I would've bought the Note 10 but no jack, no buy. The ones who helped Samsung profit from it are part of the problem.
So now s20 ultra users will have to buy note20 for better focus? What ridiculous solution is this?

Samsung S/Note and ROG Phone are for different purposes. The Samsung is not a gaming phone despite having powerful performance (SD version).

Besides Note 10 sale was great. By your comment I feel it didn't, which wasn't the case actually. Note 10 got a lot of praise(except losing headphone 3.5mm jack) from everyone.

Why would someone buy a "gaming phone" instead?
If you do not need the Pen, no reason to buy note when S does exactly the same for lower price.
So, ToF can assist the AF better than Laser AF system but Samsung failed to do it.
N the end, they spent money and space for ToF just for bokeh, still has same issues any onther phone shows while doing portrait mode.
Samsung, make a decent compact flagship or iphone12 will eliminate you..
Not a single person mentioned the typo in the article title... Come on guys, sharpen up. As for Note, can't wait to see it.
I dont trust Samsung anymore.
They said S20 Ultra will be the best camera phone,
IT WAS A LIE.
Now they ACCEPT S20 Ultra has camera issues and these will be solved in next Samsung phone.
IT IS A LIE TOO...
I'be be getting one for sure unless Samsung shortchange the UK again and only release the Exynos version regardless if it's the updated one.
Looks like they learned a lesson from last year. Note 10 could've gotten more customers but they migrated to ASUS RoG Phone 2, the first phone to use SD855+. Now Samsung will get it first before they do. I hope they pull a Sony by adding the jack back. AKG sells wired headphones and their greatest audio performance will be revealed through a Quad/SabreDAC in the jack.
Hopefully it's true that most markets will use SD865+, and keep a reasonable price tag and use at least a 60Hz QHD screen for the lowest end model. That'll fix the mistakes Samsung made with the rubbish S20.
This makes sense.
Even tho I can't afford it now but option of WQHD + 120hz would really make sense.
And it would truly feel like an upgrade or else. The S20 Ultra and note 20+ will definitely feel d same
