Spanky, 29 Jun 2020My biggest interest is if it will have the 5G modem built-in. Also, I expect ~900K in AnTuT... moreYour theory is right. But reality is different. Phones and their are getting more expensive. The 865 is already high enough to make 1000usd the standard flagship price. Now 1000usd will be the standard price for the flagship killers. And flagships will cost upward of 1500usd.

There is an arms race now with phone specs. Not very beneficial to the end user. Besides, I think charging speeds are already high enough to impact longevity of batteries. Yes. I am one of 'those' who keeps a phone longer than 2 years.

Buy iPad with weird aspect ratio for gaming.
That big awkward device for portability?

65W USB-C Power Delivery would be better since most laptop support it.

So now even Basic smartphone Or Midrange Smartphone will cost around $400 or $500 (including taxes)
because but obvious, OEMs will add 3/4 camera, bluetooth v.4.2 or max v.5, big battery, 90hz screen refresh rate, etc etc -_-

There will be Dimensity 2000 to keep the price in check, and there is a high possibility that D2000 will outperform SD875, probably by a margin.

For 2020, it looks like MediaTek will outsell Qualcomm at least for the 5G smartphone segment. Let's hope there will be another round of MediaTek vs Qualcomm in 2021.

It is the successor to 865, surely it will utilise A78 cores but in the second paragraph it states A77

Peachy001, 29 Jun 2020It'll be done in the charger. Will allow the battery half a chance.I wasn't talking about battery overheating (though, that's important too). I meant the chip, while under sustained load. There are some phones with fans inside (for example, the Black Shark 3, if I'm not mistaken). I don't want that to become the standard. That's how it started in PCs, too. A a heat sink, at first, then heat sinks with a small fan, then dual-fans, then bigger fans, then huge heat sinks and huge fans…

Software support is only as good as giving full device sources. We have the hd2, galaxy s3, redmi note 3, oneplus devices as proof of that. Mono can sound good if it's done right and stereo can sound awful if it's done tinny. If you're crying about screen quality why not start crying that it burns it self to death (i'm looking at you oled). Also have you noticed that a lot of devices are missing more and more features that are something to still be had. Brats like you have pushed these devices to suck below the 300eur point, so why not stfu and go bring down a statue on your head.
