Be it for low income worker and/their their housewife/their kid student, also has enough feature for elderly who only needs it for communication and viewing photo/video of their grandchildren. Doesnt look so bad tho
Millions of people only have $200 salary/income per month to feed their family. Some are even less. Millions other unemployed uneducated and dont know what to do.., yet nowadays they need a smartphone. Then there it is a $100 phone with 2,3gHz octa A53 cpu +5000mAh battery+ a working gpu+ a working camera+6,5 inch display+. Should be enough for browsing, socmed, media player and light gaming for stress relieve.

KondriX, 30 Jun 2020Or maybe it's vice-versa, many are buying these type of phones for their parents, just like me... moreFor the current standard 2GB is not enough and if you only use it for simple things Android Go, Android One or even google pixel phones will be much better because these phones have better update and can be safely used for at least 3 years, that's why I bought my little sister who still in elementary school Google Pixel 3a.
Only people with limited income would consider buying a phone like Realme C11 because they want to get a phone with better specifications with the least amount of money while others would prefer a phone with better updates or better specs like Realme 6 series / Realme Note 9 series.

Usually these phones are used for talking, light internet usage, WhatsApp/Messenger and some photos, and of course battery life. I think 2Gb of RAM is enough for that.

Smartphone with 2 gb of ram is useless today. It can have sd 865 but with 2 gb of ram will still struggle, especially in multitasking. Don't by phone with 2 gb of ram.

Redmi 9a and 9c have advantage over this device.
... Type C is more acceptable nowadays..
The only things that worry me on redmi is 2gb of ram running miui ... might be painful even if it just a backup phone.
