Its weird that mtk refresh a helio P25 and P35, then brand it as G series.

Actually wait... Whats the difference between the P35 and G35?? Gpu is the same, cpu is the same quad A53 2,x ghz, same bt5.0 and wifi ac, isp capability is the same. Isnt it the same soc afterall??

Who at MediaTek came up with this atrocious idea of calling these things "gaming". It's a slap in the face, especially after the very good Dimensity chipsets. Which, BTW, should be considered the real gaming SoCs. Sheesh.

Mediatek sux, 30 Jun 2020Sd 625,630.according to cpu performance, they can be compared to old sd625, but when it comes to gpu, its very week. don't know why they are saying it as gaming centric soc. may be they are saying about clash royale and sudoku games. hahahah

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2020Most games run at 720p. Even on phones with QHD screens. Yes i know, but with gfxtools it goes upto 1440p. And there also exist various games where you can modify files for better settings and emulators where you can set the resolution, etc. Anyway the cpu will be the bottleneck here.

Anonymous, 30 Jun 2020If this thing isn't able (and it won't be) to play Fortnite/PUBG/CoD at a decent framerate, no... moreYou know, gaming is not just about 3 games. There's a huge amount of good games which run well on lower-end phones.

Besides, as SoCs get better and better, even low-end chips will be able to run those 3 games fairly well (at low details, but playable).

In my opinion, it's a good move by MTK. Even if you buy a low-end phone, it's nice to see gaming-oriented features in it.

If you are buying a new phone this year (2020), you should avoid any phones based on MediaTek Helio G, P series of SoCs.

If you are on a budget, you should pay attention to new and forthcoming phones based on D800 with pricing near or below $200.

If you are on a even tighter budget, wait for phones based on forthcoming D600 (~$150).
