So Apple patents a button. A button! This is ridiculous.
ishreal, 30 Jun 2020This worked out soooo well for their MacBook butterfly switches and iOS force touch lol. Apple... moreIt worked out pretty well for their actually relevant similar products (non-mechanical touch ID, non-mechanical touchpad click). Trolls aren't even trying anymore.
One button calls ya mother!!
Useless thin phones with brittle build quality and terrible battery life.
That's what Apple aiming at.
These are capacitive buttons or mechanical?
So basically it will be similar to the HTC u12+ but with better implementation and with sound, and all of a sudden everyone wants to follow.
ypcx, 01 Jul 2020one of them be can unlocked without needing to type in passcode when i'm wearing sunglass... moreOne of them has a curved screen on all sides and an equally ugly MASSIVE dual punch hole.
One of them has no google mobile services.
One has a hard-to-find fingerprint sensor.
On the other hand, one CAN unlock with sunglasses on. One is also has more secure recognition.
One has optimized mobile services and apps.
One isn't as large as a brick.
One is also $750 cheaper.
Anonymous, 30 Jun 2020Please... Comparing a huawai to Apple? lolone of them be can unlocked without needing to type in passcode when i'm wearing sunglasses.
one of them has 10x optical zoom and can see at night.
guess which one. fool.
This better be some kind of breakthrough of something actually worthy of a patent... though doubtful.
Wow. You made a button slimmer abs want to add more feedback to the button. Bravo. Now everyone should pay you...
Remove all buttons and put front camera under display. It will look cool.
butterfly keys 2.0
the button should be flush with the body it'll look sleek!!!
Just don't remove the whole button, then it'll be fine.
Phones like Huawei Mate 30 pro with no volume buttons is a terrible idea.
ishreal, 30 Jun 2020This worked out soooo well for their MacBook butterfly switches and iOS force touch lol. Apple... moreThis is going to be different. Force Touch should've been successful but times have changed. Display screens are getting thinner because of underdisplay fingerprint scanners. Some hundred thousand Apple users missed the Force/3D Touch.
"The patent gives the iPhone power button as an example, so that’s likely the first use case, but it these devices can find other uses as well. Instead of just buttons, this can be used for toggles as well (and the iPhone has one of those on its side as well)"
It is blinding reading this much "as well" in this small slice.
This worked out soooo well for their MacBook butterfly switches and iOS force touch lol. Apple never learns.
those new 'buttons' will be a pain
