RealLifePhones, 14 Jul 2020I don't get why Qualcomm created this huge memory bottleneck by only supporting eMMC 4.5?... moreTrue!
Memory speed is very important, not just ROM speed but also RAM speed.
A serious specs sheet would look like this:
UFS3.1 ROM
LPDDR5 RAM
7nm FAB
Quad core Cortex A55
Co-processor Cortex M55 paired with Ethos U55
I don't get why Qualcomm created this huge memory bottleneck by only supporting eMMC 4.5?! Compared to UFS even eMMC 5.1 is hella slow but 4.5 is a pain in the a$$
This is long overdue.
By now Qualcomm should be releasing WearOS SoC based on 7nm and using Cortex A55 with co-processor using Cortex M55 paired with Ethos U55.
Love the Community, 01 Jul 2020All I ever want for a flagship Snapdragon Wear watch is a 7nm single core A77/A78 processor se... moreYour watch will be dying in 2 hours. Even a53 is struggling at battery life, why do you think performance core will do?
Too late. And this 12nm process is embarrasing. World is at 7nm now and looking at 5nm ARM SoCs by the end of the year.
2018 is that you? And they still ask why apple watch sells that much
hopefully Fossil make their watch sooner than Mobvoi. Because f@#% China and CCP.
12nm not the best but compared to the current 28nm its a big upgrade & im looking forward to what companies now release, they can now add sleep tracking. We just need WearOS to add Health tracking as standard.
All I ever want for a flagship Snapdragon Wear watch is a 7nm single core A77/A78 processor severely underclocked at 1.0GHZ so it'll be cooled down and be battery efficient. It's like 100x better than a 12nm A53. ARM should've phased them all out and the only available architectures are A55, A76 and above. Nothing else.
I'm glad they made a big jump for the community like us, it's outdated tech since it's based on an already outdated SD429. If Qualcomm wants to beat Apple, do what I say. Flagship chips are always better in all situations in any way.
Obsolete.... 12nm? Too late
Unexpected, overdue. Maybe there's some life left in Android watches after all?
What I want to know badly is....
How many days between charge this wear 4100 device can...
Can it at least be use for 1 week between charge?
How does it compared to Huawei GT2 Watch...
why didn't they just jump straight to 7nm? the efficiency can be way better right? smartwatch major problems are mediocre battery life, especially Google ones.
Big step up for wearable
Is Qualcomm getting serious about wearables again? I wonder how they do against Samsung's and Huawei's smartwatch chips.
