Kieropee, 01 Jul 2020SHAREit does this for years already. Shareit was great when it was owned by lenovo.
Now it is just an ad serving app that is slow to launch, gives more connectivity errors then older versions.
I got rid of it when Oppo Share became compatible with Xiaomi, Vivo and Realme.
And Google always adopts the features from custom roms that receive consumer acclaim. e.g. scrolling screenshots (present in oppo phones since 2016) will come in Android 11
No ones denying that other solutions didn't exist before Google. Why it's needed is that it brings parity between different android flavours that either has their own sharing technology or is partnered with a select few and that you don't need to have different apps instaled to send files or force people to download things.
The simplest way before this was to send it over much slower mediums or use a service that essentially allowed you locally turn the features to send over networks (snapdrop / sharedrop)
i have it and its great

I wonder why it is needed when Files app from Google is already there.
What is this? New type of spyware from google to be praised by tech sites to lure in prey for google. I wonder when this will be shoved down consumers throats as part of GMS suit. Any sensible person must be wishing and wanting this GOD forsaken company to just perish into nothing and spare us its crap.
Huawei Share?
Support from 6.0? I still have working phone of 5.x KitKat. I guess i should throw away that to use this...on second thought I will stick to the phone till it dies or i die....no real innovation in phones..same mhz, ppi, inches, mAh wars going on
An alternative to Chinese ShareIt (that got banned in India a few days ago)?
SHAREit already solve this issue a long time ago.
SHAREit does this for years already.
Finally, Google decided to add something really useful to Android.
Better later than never but this comes with a delay of several years...
