Honestly as much as I find this as hilarious as the next person tired of the blind sony fans....
I really am just as surprised as the Sony fanboys.
I definitely would have thought it would be better since they bumped up to 4000mah. And even though their battery back up is not this magical sorcery its claimed to be its definitely usually good.

It's a simple question!
Do you know the answer?

My post clearly states Sony to provide option between 4K@60hz and 2k@120hz in software SETTINGS Where end user decides what they want to run.
These paid marketing Sony guys keep repeating same talking points all over YouTube as well.
Yet it doesn't sell. SMH.

Anonymous, 12 Jul 2020it was never legendaryIf you think this was never legendary, Google wouldn't have baked their Doze feature into Android 6.0 Marshmallow update and other OEM to imitate the battery-saving feature in the first place, which heavily-based from Sony's regarded & proven feature STAMINA Mode & excellent standby performance for many years.

Some of the comments here genuinely implied a desire for Sony to dropped their signature 4K screen in favor of QHD+ with HRR, when their 4K-powered screen smartphone feature has been staying for 5 years since Z5 Premium, whilst HRR only has been staying for 3 years since Razer Phone 1. The sacrilegious did by Sony with headphone jack & its boxy-design back in XZ2/XZ3 batch is enough. Sacrificing their signature 4K is out of context in my perspective. Sure, I want HRR at 90Hz, but preserve the 4K.
GrandMaster, 13 Jul 2020The answer is simple. Sony doesn't use Exynos. This is why it's a good thing. But they use ISOCELL sensors.
Seems SD865 with X55 modem has veritably nerfed majority smartphones ER & standby performance this year, with Xperia 1 II being no exception (outside its 4K-nativity screen factor). But, 83hr ER is indeed a decent result for 1 II compared to last year Xperia 1 (80hr+ ER for me is already great). And standby performance what shines the most in Sony Xperia for a lot of years, with XZ1 and 5 affected the most. Hopefully, SD875 & X60 modem fixes all the messes that SD865 & X55 made in the first place... 🥴

Dial it back to 60hz if you want some extra juice and stop whining.
Don't rob other users off the option to use higher refresh rate.
Sony brand boys are Bullheaded.
The concept of a phone being able to satisfy requirements of both type of users is alien to them.

The chip, physical hardware, does not support 4k@90-120. If the chip supported 4k at higher refresh, Sony probably would have went with 4k@90. But since the hardware does not support higher 4k refresh rates, they added their motion blur tech from TV's.

Sony just adds their Bravia tech to the display. Just like with TV's, they add Bravia tech to the LG panels.
The horizontal & vertical lines of 3840x2160 is 4k UHD (or 16:9, aspect of TV's) is just one 4k resolution. DCI 4k, what movie studios film with, is 4096x2160. This is then cropped for cinemas to 21:9 aspect ratio. This is why when one watches 4k movie on one's tv there a black bars above & below the picture. But the picture is 4k. As an example, Jumanji The Next Level is 2160p UHD with a 2.39:1 aspect ratio.
