And you could make the same point with other budget sizes: My grandma asking for a cheap phone "that works", or my friends getting an iPhone because they don't have a budget restraint and that's the most known phone over here. Without a care for specs, like you said.
Having said that, it's not like most people will be completely blind when it comes to specs, if there's competition. In a store if they are shown say 3 models at €400, and the clerk says (for this Moto) "with this one you can have longer battery life, store more photos, and use 5G once you get the appropriate package from your provider", there's a good chance those spec ignorant people might say it's just what they needed (again, if they don't mind that phone size).

I've seen many customers at my work place asking what phone they can buy for their bugget. almost nobody asks about the specs. And all oems know that they can profit on people's lack of "unnecessary knowledge" about mobile technology.

Agreed, and personally I'd probably do that if I had a need to, but none of those have as good of a battery life, 90Hz, 5G connection, and I don't know how many of them have SD card-headphone jack-splashproof combo, just to name a couple things.
In other words, maybe for $400 you can buy something better for yourself, I could too, but many others can find the right package with this phone, assuming they accept the size.

Anonymous, 08 Jul 2020Macro isn't that useless. Your can see the difference.Ultrawide camera can take care of macro shots. That is why I labeled macro lens as useless. They could have given a telephoto lens instead of macro and depth.

This phone has a lot going for it for the price it's asking. I think Moto has delivered a good product here. An OLED display would've been better, but an LCD is acceptable in this price range (you also get the benefit of never having to deal with burn-ins).

The price is awesome!!! Stop nitpicking a 5G phone at this price is a great deal. You want more you can always pay more. Simple as that.

No AMOLED, no deal. The Mi 10 Lite 5G is under 350 euros here, for the 6/128 version. And it has 765G, not the regular 765.
Also, one punch hole is enough (even for bokeh). I am a fan of the punch hole camera, but let's not turn the phone's screen into swiss cheese!

AnonD-906854, 07 Jul 2020Ya, 20:9 screens are acceptable but 21:9 is bad.. If moto just said it is a 20:9 or 19.5... more21:9 is a bit weird but it's mainly used for movie and cinema that ratio, and seeing as this is a 5G phone one of its aims is displaying movies
