It is totally sad decision in user point of view. How can i be ensure that i get the original charger and it is available from day one. I think it is not possible for many 3rd world country. If i don't use original charger if something happen to the phone the authorized service center will blame/excuse easily you aren't using orginal charged that why this problem occur.

These companies dont care about the environment. The chargers and cables that we have degrade with time. A good number also dont support quick charging. If they truly cared about the environment they would initiate a return program where we return old gadgets and chargers for reuse then we earn some credit to buy new ones at lower costs. But because apple has found a way of fleecing money from customers, samsung also wants to follow the bandwagon. These unpopular decisions make chinese brands popular. They started with hiking prices, chinese companies took advantage of their greed, now its removing key components. Do they even know that some aftermarket chargers do explode because of poor quality control? My Cousin's galaxy Xcover 2 was roasted by an aftermarket charger through explosion. And many third party USB cables are very unreliable. But I will support the decision if it is done in the US and UK only because they have the cash to splash.

The 'reduced cost' only makes sense for the manufacturers. It does not translate to lower price for customers. If manufacturers want to reduce any cost, just release 1 or 2 phones per year for each segment (low, mid, flagship) and they will only need to provide software support for those phones only. Less R&D, less money spent.

First make all your mobiles Wireless chargeable and supply wireless charging pad before stop supplying power adapters. Resale buyers would demand power adapters. It is getting silly in following silly corporations silly taxtics

This is what they called thinking out of the box. From headphone jack to charger. Soon they'll remove the battery too. #Genius

Thats a bad idea, because people may then get fooled and buy counterfeit chargers and you know what problems they can cause. In my country if your original charger dies, good luck finding another original one because the market is flooded with crappy chinese fake chargers.

First ugly and stupid notch, then removing headphone jack and now this! If all other brands are copying Apple by removing essential accessories, will they dare to follow Apple's another important policy of 5 years software support?
What Next? All brands will make different charging ports for each model so that user can't use one charger for another phone and will be forced to buy new charger every time along with new phone.
Above all, $1000 price tag for flagship phones with so called high end specifications. No wonder people keep their phones for more than 2-3 years and won't spend more than $200-400 for new phones.

"Also, entry-level phones are less likely to require a special high power charger so the ones you already have at home will likely do the job."
                                  .
Huh, so what about people who purchasing a new smartphone for the first time? or the charger already damaged?
Keep sugar-coating every greedy cost-cutting and profit only decisions from OEM's and let them get away with whatever they do, it won't be long they'll charge you for bits and pieces of smartphones next.
Most of the recent devices releasing cost around $200 or above and it only keeps increasing,
They can sell a $1000 smartphone but not with a charger, which is an essential? Disgusting cheapskates.

if they reduce the price of the phone by $30-40 than this is smart as you only pay for the charger if you need it. I have 3 samsung chargers at home so why not save some money on my next phone

I expect explosions when people start using non-standard or counterfeit chargers for their Apples and Samsungs and whoever does this nonsense next.

It would be OK if you could get the phone cheaper without the charger, but not like this.
