These Americans are starved off half the devices in the world, locked into carrier systems.
This is why they think pixel and iPhone SE are the best affordable devices.
They simply don't get any choice for devices at this price range.

India is a price sensitive market and if Nord is priced at $500, then customers will go in for snapdragon 855 based Realme which is more cheaper or other previous year's flagship phones. The earlier budget Phone OnePlus X didn't do well and Nord with a price tag at $500 seems be heading down the same path. An attractive price would be $300 to go back to OnePlus roots.

I understand it might sound bit unfair to the Europeans out there but that's the way the market over here works.

EU always cost more expensive on tech stuff, consider there's almost zero manufacturing chain involved in most electronics stuff... Even for house hold appliance, the international brands sells much more to keep the EU appliance brand in check.
