Berserker, 19 Jul 2020Omg dude stop waisting my time. If you dont want an opinion dont ask for it.
Let me tell you,... moreI literally didn't asked for your opinion, I only gave you exemples of things such as how the Jack can be improved by switching to magnetic connector, which is actually totally faisable regardless the thickness of the shell, actually the thicker the better for such design as it is a passthrough.
Then you can basically interpret my answer as :
"Dafuq are you thinking make it impossible...There is nothing impossible in this design", but obviously this was too complex for you to get it.
But hey, you can magically see through a 3D model which have not a single image of the inside and determine the thickness of things that haven't been modeled yet, and without any additional informations being able to tell how it is and if it will work.
Because everyone know that opening smartphones make you an engineer expert in material, mechanical properties and smartphone design and layout.
YOU say the Jack is gone while the vast majority of peoples still want it and some brand not only put it back, but some use it as a commercial argument.
If for you, removing a part of the display to archive FULLSCREEN is logic, then it say it all anyway.

Let me tell you, I'm repairing almost 50 devices s yearly, low, mid range, flagships, tablets, you name it. You dont need to much experience to realise that such a design is a child's play and nothing that can be mass produced.
Whatever, keep dreaming.

Yes, I have, I have changed the display of my phone twice and I look many disassembly video along with many picture of internal design.
If you look at my images you'll see that I've modeled the sensors inside the pop up, when I'll switch to Fusion 360 I'll go further and model the board and chips that come with it.
You are the perfect example of someone who criticize something without even knowing how said thing work, that's EXACTLY why despite having many idea, including a civilisation model (including politic, law, economy etc) that basically solve all issues, I don't talk about it, because even before I explain how it work, peoples start criticizing it as if they know how it is supposed to work.
Why is there that everytime someone spend hours, weeks, months or even years working on something, having taking every details into consideration, checking multiple times from multiple aspects, there are those guys who think they know better after 4 seconds, two sentences and no details what so ever on how it is done or how it work who come and say "ThIs Is ImPoSsIbLe".
This is EXACTLY for this reason that this quote exist :
Peoples who say "it is impossible", should not interrupt those who are trying to make it possible.
Also work with :
Most of the things worth doing in the world have been declared impossible before they were done.

Sorry for the honest opinion?

And in what part do you consider it impossible ?
The next version will actually include most internal components in 3D to actually prove it is faisable.

Berserker, 13 Jul 2020You made some good self advertising there:D Well, I don't intend on making or selling this phone, at least not in the near futur anyway, I've designed it to show what is faisable in term of tech, so I think this is appropriate ^^

Berserker, 10 Jul 2020Majority of theopole who still cry about the headphone jack also want stereo speakers, quad ca... moreWhere did you get that "majority of people" claim from? What's your source? I'd love to see it.
Berserker, 10 Jul 2020With 99% of the new phones all with punch holes, notches and curved displays it looks like you... moreThat's EXACTLY because there are so many phones with those stupid useless things that are invasive and a huge nuisance that it is important to certainly never stop showing user/buyer/potential buyer insatisfaction about those.
Same, that's EXACTLY because the headphone jack is a dangerously disappearing features and that some manufacturers actually heard user about it and not just put the Jack back but also are proud of it that this is important to keep fighting for the Jack.
The way you talk about it clearly give out the impression that you are angrily against the Jack, if an analysis/sale department guy go through comments here to see general opinion (which is a thing), he will totally count what you said as an user against the jack, not one who only accept it is gone.
It is coming back actually, and like almost everybody else, you are heavily underestimating the effect comments have.
The initial reason I even made a GMSArena account is to defend the pop up camera and fight all the misconceptions and myths about it using proof and logic.
If you were to look at all my comments, and how peoples view pop up camera, I'd say that I've done a pretty good job, few month ago, when I posted my first comment, not a single phone with pop up could have got an article without wave of peoples complaining using all the false arguments that initially killed its popularity, now, almost no one complain about it, many peoples like it and there are a non négligeable amount of peoples actually defending it, some using my own arguments, other using their own or other popular ones.
BTW this was mainly a GSMArena thing, most other websites had relatively few complains and many defenders of the pop up.
And phones with pop up camera which were on decline because of this poor popularity based on false facts are now starting to be slowly rising again, by a tiny amount maybe, but still it happen, I won't say it is MY do of course, we are tons of peoples defending it, but clearly I am the one who influenced mentalities about it on GSMArena.
And the same thing apply to Jack, Flat and Uninterrupted Displays, independent SD card slot, etc.
That's exactly why I made my fictional concept phone :
https://imgur.com/gallery/ykYfaa6 (man I feel like I spam this link lately)...
To showcase what is actually faisable with the pop up and also all the things that can be put on a smartphone using highly advanced but existing or really near technologies, though this is a first step here, I'll switch to Autodesk Fusion 360 which is way more powerful and proceed to make the whole internal design (chips, boards, etc) and much better rendering, anyway the dimensions aren't even final as actually it is Samsung S10/20 sized but I want a different display ratio of 2:1 and slightly thicker than its current 9.5mm since it is made to be used without a case as it is really tough.
So morale of the story, you can give up on something, but keep it for yourself as you may waste it for many other peoples.

Berserker, 10 Jul 2020Majority of theopole who still cry about the headphone jack also want stereo speakers, quad ca... moreLets remove the display and only use audio description, imagine how much space and battery life we will save !
If manufacturers simply stop insisting on making smartphone ridiculously thin, this wouldn't be an issue, also there is magnetic connectors which solve this issue.
The ONLY reason why jack is removed is so you have to buy stupid wireless adapters, and peoples like you are what make this bad commercial trend possible.
As a PC gamer, I have a Corsair Void Pro, which is a great headset that plug in its USB sound card through a 3.5mm jack, there were many occasions I literally unplugged it to plug it to my phone just to realize OnePlus were stupid enough to remove the Jack, making me unable, late during the night, to listen to what I wanted without waking up everyone.
THIS is why the Jack is awesome, it have compatibility with tons of incredible devices, from crappy earphones to high quality audio hardware like the Sennheiser RS 195-U or ton of pro grade equipment.
It doesn't drain battery just to stay connected.
Actually, you know what ? To fix the space issue, why not remove the Bluetooth actually ?
A phone use is to make calls, in which audio jack, supporting a wide variety of call based objects is useful, bluetooth only drain battery, therefor reducing the amount of time the phone can stay keep active call, so yeah, lets remove the bluetooth !
The spoiled behavior is because YOU don't need/want something, to fight against it.
That's why I personally only fight against INVASIVE techs, like punch hole, notches, curved edge display and other craps like that who once you have them you can't do anything about them and they always have their negative impacts.
Jack on the other hand, no one force you to use it.
The day the USB port will be removed without any alternatives and you'll cry because you will loose comfort of file transfert and have to use the crappy slow bluetooth, I'll laugh.
Crackling Doom, 10 Jul 2020Terrible analogy.

I do phone repairs as my second job and let me tell you, there is almost zero waste of space on the latest smartphones, many of the latest phones have already dubble stacked motherboards.
Tou cant always get what you want.
What a spoiled behavior. Go live in the past while technology goes wireless, and that is the future.
