Down the line I would not be surprised if Lei Jun rebrands himself as Many Kumar Jain and vice versa.

the brand has definitely lost it way. The initial phones were good bt if they're just going to be copying Xiaomi smartphones, what's the point.

Note9 User, 14 Jul 2020True & $320 is a steal, just make sure it's in very good condition from a trusted source. However, there are factors that need to be taken into consideration, including user preference & priority.

Can a Cheap 2020 Smartphone beat a 2018 Flagship?

(I'm certain he's using an Exynos 9810 which is not as energy efficient as the QSd 845 Note9).

Poco just lost my trust when it rebranded a smartphone and that too with a terrible chipset like SD 720G.

Another benefit is the reduced bloatware you get, although update takes it up to present levels mostly.

Poco stood as a flagship killer, one with killer processor, and average specs.
Now it stands launched with a 720G processor, which is not even equal to SD845 in performance.

I'll be honest: From the next Poco, I expected cost cutting, to the extent that you could fit a Galaxy S7's excellent-for-its-time single camera with same Qualcomm DAC, and with Snapdragon 865 or so, and I wouldn't complain.
Then that Redmi K20 Pro arrived, which had flagship grade processor, we were told this was Poco successor. And we got confused... (?!)

Now, Poco brand is off its track... There's no chance for me getting a mi phone anymore, due to their spy apps and no more focus on audio quality, but even if I would... Not the M2 Pro.

Affordable or not Snapdragon 865 is not worth it especially with a 5G modem that is not integrated within the processor.

SD 845 performs almost 20% better in GPU but it just only slightly weaker in battery efficiency compared to 765G. I rather takes 20% better performance than 1% increase battery life.

I am kinda confuse with their current strategy, I knew most of the major Chinese tech company are implementing sub brand or multiple branding strategy.

Huawei - High end, medium high and offline retail
Honor - Medium high end, more affordable and online

OnePlus - Tech Enthusiast and westerner
Oppo - Camera
Vivo - Music
Realme - Worth for bucks
iQOO - Gaming

Now, back to Xiaomi. When they seperate out the Redmi brand, it make sense. It is a similar strategy like Honor and Realme. When they initially released the Poco brand, it does make sense. The first Poco phone was running on a slight modification software and different hardware. The point is, they are unique by their own right. Sure other company sure as a couple of rebranding phone as well, but all of the current Poco phone are just a rebranded Redmi phones, with no additional customization on the software nor the hardware (with a little upgrade or downgrade with the charging speed or etc). So they are actually cannibalizing their Redmi lineup.

digitaldevil, 13 Jul 2020845 is better then mid rangers lol , battery is 4000mah , u are so dumb lolyear 2020 mi-ranger such as SD 765
or even the Dimensity 820
----will always be better than----
SD 845...

reason...
the new CPU/GPU is more power efficient than the one inside the SD 845,,
so, always pick the brand new mid-ranger over 2 years old flagship CPU.
