    The smartphone could have been a lot more desirable and efficient had it been equipped with the Dimensity 820 chipset. It is a far better 5G chipset over its SD counterpart.

      It is fine and specs except that it needs a faster refresh display like 90Hz or 120Hz. A faster display is valuable to feel that one has bought a new phone.

          Anonymous, 13 Jul 2020Cut the crap with the ads. they can be disabled!!! NO !!! There is no way in the settings to 100% turn them off. And what about the data collection ?! {https://www.forbes.com/sites/thomasbrewster/2020/04/30/exclusive-warning-over-chinese-mobile-giant-xiaomi-recording-millions-of-peoples-private-web-and-phone-use/}
          There is no way to stop this without flashing a custom ROM and voiding the warranty of a new phone.
          Also, this phone has a SD 720G, even Samsung is launching a budget phone with SD 730 & AMOLED soon {https://www.sammobile.com/news/galaxy-m51-snapdragon-730-8gb-ram-geekbench/ } & their ads on the M series can actually be turned off, so better wait a month and get this instead.

              the second gen poco is a mess....
              They upgrading all different aspect of the phone that doesn't have anything to do with the "purity" of the gamer. If I want good camera, fancy looking phone. I will buy Xiaomi Mi 10 or Mi Note 10.

              I think the spirit of Poco should be simple camera, simple look, crazy CPU/GPU price/performance. The M2 Pro should have the dimensity 820 instead of any qualcom midrange.

                  Why would you pay for a phone where they push questionable advertisement to the user of the phone. Same OS as Xiaomi so same issues ! I am still waiting for Xiaomi Mi A4 with ANdroid One ! When is that coming, GSM Arena has no news on that model yet !

                    They messed up the formula. It was supposed to be good specs in a plastic case with a simple but decent 90 Hz. LCD rocking the latest Qualcomm silicon and an above average camera and fast storage and modern charge speeds. I'd imagine a 4500 MaH battery to show some progress on that front also and a headphone jack. Why did they mess it up so badly

                    It was a unique formula for people who don't care about flashy design and just want specs on the cheap.

                    IMHO none of the new 'Poco' phones pull that off. Such a disappointment.

                    Still, I can at least say that the F2 is dropping in price pretty sharply lately on Bangood and other sites and is already far below the initial asking price, which is where it should be without a 90 Hz. screen. I still won't buy it though. I want 90 Hz and no annoying popup camera.

                          Typical Xiaomi. They did the exact same thing to the 'mi A' series. They WILL have a phone as good as POCO F1 but with an entirely new (and unknown) name so as few people as possible actually purchase it but enough (new?) fans to advertise the brand!

                                  Poco probably eaten too much off xiaomi main brand sales . They have to degrade it to similar brand as redmi so people will start buying xiaomi again .

                                      Manhurt, 12 Jul 2020I think Xiaomi scared if Poco will cannibalized Mi/Redmi series. That is why they release mid-... moreIt's an interesting point - Poco F1 probably bit off way too big chunk of Xiaomi's sales and people were postponing their phone purchases because they believed a much better value Poco is coming, so tXiaomi decided to completely demolish the Pocophone brand to show people "look people, Poco is dead, there's no hope for a better value phone, just buy our overpriced stuff".

                                      But then again, the problem is when Vivo announces phone like iQOO Z1 which is basically exactly what people expected Poco F2 to be. If IQOO Z1 / Z1x were to release globally, Xiaomi's sales would plummet.
