I won't a fingerprint
Phonerd, 31 Jul 2020I also don't understand. It feels like they're in a competition to make customers as... moreThat's the issue, peoples will be too stupid to choose the amazing 3D Sonic Max, because its predecessor was not that good on the beginning and even though it is now fixed and work quite well, peoples stupidly thing : Ultrasonic FPS = bad, even if the first optical underdisplay FPS had the same history.
And this is despite the 3D Sonic Max having literally every single advantages over optical ones, and even capacitives.
By the way it is totally possible that the iPhone 12 come with this or an equivalent by Qualcomm, as everyone seem to have forgotten it, but back in late 2019, Apple made a deal with Qualcomm about ultrasonic FPS, and if they indeed include both Face ID and Touch ID (2 ?) or Sonic ID or whatever they call it, well then everyone will suddenly want that.
The same apply for the pop up whose only negative point is basically the badmouthing peoples do to it by believing 2 year old and long debunked myths.
Same for 3D facial recognition that somehow people assume is less secure than FPS, like, what ?
You literally leave your fingerprints everywhere, including on your phones, while a precise 3D replica of your head would require a damn precise head scanning, and the now living skin detection algorithms by Qualcomm and Trimanix make it even harder to fool, so peoples are literally against more secure system just because they heard someone else say this incredibly stupid thing, and most are too stupid to realize that we can and actually should have both FPS and 3D facial recognition...
But between the removal of Iris scanner, removal of the Jack port, curved edge display with no alternative until now with the Note 20 who have one flat display model, lack of independent SD card slot for most of their flagships, stupid ugly useless and sensor removing punch hole, stupidly low resolution depth camera (like, seriously, what are you gonna do with a 0.5MP depth camera ? It should be AT LEAST 12 MP to be really useful to make a per pixel depth map), the S20 who could have had the 3D Sonic Max but rather they took the old 3D Sonic, and with the Exynos issue (literally, the Exynos model should be either for the regular Sxx/Notexx or for a parallel lineup which would cost less, not a region specific SoC)...
Indeed it look like Samsung is trying to make the worse possible decisions, but many of those also apply to many other brands, just spec wise it is almost impossible to tel which smartphone is which, they are way too similar...
AnonD-909757, 15 Jul 2020Samsung are really stupid when it come to fingerprint scanner anyway... From not using the 3D... moreI also don't understand. It feels like they're in a competition to make customers as angry as possible. Why don't they have a vote and see what people actually want.
The whole point of having a pen is that you don't need to touch the display with your fingers.
Note should have power button fingerprint reader as well.
Tab s6 has 10.5 inches screen and it have under screen fingerprint but Tab s7 haven't?
To be completely honest, fingerprint sensors are one of the least important things in a tablet. Yeah, it is a fantastic feature on a smartphone, but the usage of a smartphone is also different.
Good for them if they have better alternative. Except they could include an UDfps that'll cover at least 25/30% of the screen, it'll be inconvenience for a screen/device of that size. It's better they go for Side mounted fps for this one.
The bigger 12.4" tablet, however, will sport an optical in-display sensor [...] It's also not known at the moment if the Tab S7+ will get an optical sensor.
AnonD-909757, 15 Jul 2020Samsung are really stupid when it come to fingerprint scanner anyway... From not using the 3D... moreI agree. The only Samsung device with a good sensor I have come across is the S10 lite and S7.
Samsung are really stupid when it come to fingerprint scanner anyway...
From not using the 3D Sonic Max (rather than the previous 3D Sonic) on the S20, keeping optical FPS on other products and not putting any on the rest...
Is the smartphone industry invested in the goal to do everything wrong and Samsung being the most efficient at it or what ?
