2016 A-series models have an OIS already. I had my Samsung A5 2016 and it had one.

Hope that they will add stereo speakers and a good DAC next year. If so it'll be almost perfect

Will Samsung finally allow full camera access for 3rd party apps?
      This is ridiculous.

We're talking about OIS and it's not in the Galaxy A21.(at least that's what the site says)

AnonD-923722, 17 Jul 2020Huawei proves it that you don't need OIS to take great night shots and stable videos. See... moreI understand your point. Thank you for some info. While it's true that OIS is not the whole story, but having it on my camera gives me peace of mind. I am currently using a non-OIS phone and I don't have any problem capturing photos. In daylight, I can increase the shutter speed or use GCam's focus tracking to produce crispy, blurry-free photos. In lowlights, I simply use a tripod or use GCam's Night Sight. I believe that software is more important than hardware, for example Honor 10 can produce better photo output than most midrangers with OIS from different brands. But then again, it gives me peace of mind if my phone has also a good hardware to compliment its good software.

I love it!!! Pls bring it on!!! OIS is a big help in shooting videos, in lowlights captures and in macro photography. It's one of my most important criteria in buying a smartphone. I am not going to spend $1000 for a phone, $500 is the only money I'm willing to spend. Currently I am eyeing for iPhone SE 2020 and OnePlus Nord. Both of them have OIS and within my budget. But if Samsung put OIS in its midrangers and priced at $500, I will consider it.

It is of no use if Samsung incorporates OIS on any lens above f/1.7. We need autofocus for front cameras first.

OIS re-addition to A series is a welcome move. Their 2016 A5 & A7 handsets had them. I like A Series due to their build quality in compared with M series. But Sammy should mind about their Camera Sensor and Chipset when they want to charge 30k INR for the A70 series phone in India. Sammy should start picking the best midrange Qualcomm chipsets instead of the Exynos 9611 and Sony Camera Sensor instead of their own crapy sensors... An average consumer, need a stable device, which only Sammy can provide. Sammy is all about build quality and software stability in compared with the competition. But their chipset and camera sensors are letting them down.

OIS along with some flopped Exynos chip, terribad GW sensor, 2 years or less update life, cheap body materials...Samsung bloatware(?)

No thanks, OIS is not worth the baggage that Samsung mid-tiers ship with.

I OIS even important? Even the Huawei P40/P30/Mate 30/Mate Xs don't need OIS to take great low light shots and videos. They just use AIS and EIS. Their Auto mode photos looks like an competitors Night Mode, their auto mode is very superior of the competition that you don't need night mode except for very high contrast low light scene. So OIS is not that important. Huawei phones have very stable videos even without OIS, only AIS and EIS.

dont care about ois as long as they use a rather good camera sensor. they should focus on the performance instead. The current a51 performs like entry level phones from xiaomi
