I though we defined what's midrange by price compared to the market and not product segmentation inside the brand.

I would say looking at the failure of the OnePlus X, OnePlus is trying to create a buzz to see if the phone would be accepted even before release, hence this might dictate the number of units they'll need to produce. As regards the camera department , ONEPLUS might remain OnePlus, with OOS and probably frequent update, it might likely be a success if price is appealing, the top end at $350 maybe

Almost all the specs are revealed. The only thing remaining is the price. If it isn't priced under ₹25K, it will be a big failure. That is for the higher variant. For the 8/128 GB variant, it should be ₹21,999.
Anything above these prices and it is going to be a failure.
