I am a fan of the poco F1, and I would buy another F1 even today instead of a rebranded redmi phone. What people really expect from a poco phone is no compromised "quality where it matters" so flaship SOC, good amount of ram, good camera, Expendability and big battery. You can save costs using LCD instead of OLED, polycarbonate instead of glass and finger print on the back instead that under the display... wait a minute... just upgrade the F1 with a new camera and a new SOC and you'll be ok!

NeonHD, 20 Jul 2020Xiaomi has pretty much become a slave towards the Indian market, lol.Yes and many other mobile brands moving their production there. They sell more than half of what they make in India alone.

You didn't even mention screen burn-in issues with the OLEDs. Just so you can blame LCD, because you happened to like OLED. Also most of the OEMs use IPS LCD not cheap LCD.
And "OLEDs are all the way to go?"
There are better display technology out there better than OLED such as QLED and microLED.

They have stick to their line of product like the F1 and F2. They shouldn't create another series line that is not original from other xiaomi's products. I doubt if it is much cheaper to the redmi note 9s global or china.

GSMArena nailed it this time, I absolutely no longer consider ANY xiaomi (unless it runs Android 1.) due to their nasty advertisement pushing ! Disgusting practice !

Going from a smartphone who had a large notch (though a bezel would have been way better) hosting many interesting sensors (and not underdisplay craps) including IR facial recognition (not as good as 3D one, but better than camera based only) to one with a stupid useless punch hole, obviously it is disappointing.
The only thing they managed to do is to go from a flagship to a mid/low end SoC, removing stereo speakers, and have a lesser selfie camera.

"There were better ways to make a budget phone that lives up to the Poco spirit - a spirit that was all about performance."

A spirit that was all about performance with compromises for materials and build quality. There, fixed that for you.

Of course it fails.
What POCO don't get is that they're not Apple and they are not going to sell millions creating a lesser product.
Oneplus gave us few generations of devices before creating something for smaller budget.
It's like Samsung released a Note device and then followed it up with a core prime model lol.
Peace
