As expected, it's going to be a massive fail, full of privacy issues, exploits, bugs, and I wouldn't be surprised if the files you share through it won't be sent over to google servers to be scanned/analysed.

You people are funny with calling it a gimmick / bloat. Chose amongst the several apps you say? You have NO clue why this was such a needed change.

My Nokia 6.1 and Chromebook X2 have been using this for at least a week. It's been there longer on the Nokia, just didn't have anything to connect to.

Anonymous, 19 Jul 2020why is it called airdrop and not idrop hmm strange Coz people could confuse it with what they drop down the toilet :)))

AirDrop makes more sense as well as the transmission is thru the air(wifi or Bluetooth..)

"Starting August, all current Android users, running Android 6 and newer, could seamlessly get support for the feature over the air."

A moment of silence for people who are still using Android 5 to this day.

WazzaG, 19 Jul 2020So what if you don't want it installed on your phone. Once Playstore gets updated then it will be a part of Android System like Bluetooth, Wifi, Clock, etc.

If you don't want to use just ignore it.
