ypcx, 25 Jul 2020LOL, thank you for your great explanation of the concepts of unlocking a car without a key. ... moreI understand that you want seamless, quick, frustration free entry to your car and the delay by holding your phone near a specific area is indeed cumbersome requiring more perfection to be done but using your phone to unlock your car door is key-less entry and that's all I'm saying.

probably you don't have a car so for you, having to take your phone out of your pocket and hold it in some exact position for a few seconds to unlock a car IS THE SAME as just opening the car door WITHOUT HAVING TO DO THAT.

the practical difference in usability of these two is that one of them is has friction AF, while the other is smooth. i'm not sure if i'm in kindergarten here or something.

so you can call that "key less" but then you are putting apples and oranges into the same basket - basically as Samsung pretending that Exynos and Snapdragon are "basically" the same SoC.

Unlocking a car door solely with a phone IS key-less entry... - how can you not see nor understand that even when Morsel gave you the definition of the term to complete the whole picture?

In regards to winning the argument, I have to break to you that he essentially did win it by stating facts you're not keen on seeing... Key-less entry is entry without any use or physical interaction of a physical object to gain entry...

However the range and delay of unlocking a car door by holding a phone near a specific area or length is a different problem altogether which you completely failed to recognize...

So i use electricity as per necessity, because it has been the common standard of living for over a century. I'm still not fully dependent on it though, as i often spend time in the wilderness as a hobby, and can survive in a situation where they may not be any electricity available.

You've become entitled to unnecessary things & can't survive without them. I would never put myself in such a compromised position. I am surrounded by technology, and consume it as per necessity, but never become fully dependent on it. That puts me in a very convenient position if i were to find myself in unforeseen circumstance where i may not have access to these devices.

You save your seconds, I'll keep myself independent & adaptable. End of discussion.
