My replaced Charge 3 becomes dim as well. I have rebooted several times still can not read the screen under sun shine. I guess this is my first and will be the last fitbit device.

My fitbit charge 3 is still working with the iphone tracking data, but the screen is black. Tried rebooting the 15 seconds with the charge cable plugged into the computer. Nothing tried about a dozen times. I will never waste my money on fitbit again, the second replacement never lasted a year!

DaveD, 07 Dec 2020I'm having the same issue. "Normal" brightness is what Dim used to be... and &... moreThey replaced mine about 12 months ago - it is starting to dim too, I can't read it outside now...same symptoms as the last one.. The old one completely unreadable now, including inside except via the app as a step counter. That's it - an expensive odometer. I'm not even going to bother trying to replace. I just did a Google search to see if same issue with the Charge 4 and immediately I could see there were problems. So it's such a pity.

I am throwing my fitbit in the bin as I cant see the screen for the past 4 months - still works if I use the app but what the point in a watch if you cant see the screen - I have had a fit since the first model. Time to move on to a reliable brand like Apple....

"Normal" brightness is what Dim used to be... and "Dim" is almost completely black. (I have to go into the bathroom with no windows to see the screen) I have contacted Fitbit and after a number of trouble shooting attempts and reboots, they are going to review my account and see if I'm eligible for warranty. (Bought it 11 months ago, so crossing fingers)

Anonymous, 06 Sep 2020Thanks for input. I've been reluctant to do the update, after reading these I don't ... moreI must updated for the first time. I've had my charge 3 since June 2019 and hesitated to update because of all the problems each time. However, mine updated just fine. The screen is brought like before. And it syncs better than ever. I used to have to open the app to sync. Now it does it on its own.

Finally read a tiny comment on here about Sleep Mode. For some reason it was in 'Sleep' - along with many others, I guess. I pressed button and held while I hit Sleep. It woke up and was bright! And comes back on with wrist flick. How stupid that this happened after an update. Should have had a notice to all customers.

Ever since the last update, it has been worthless. I'm still wearing it, but need to look at my phone to see the time. I use the app on my phone to see any of my stats. Hopefully they will provide an new update that resolves the issue or I'll move on to another fitness tracker brand.
