The way this article has been framed, hints that Indian consumers will be able to save something now that some phones are "Make in India" (I know grammar does not favour that mantra).
That's absolutely wrong. Apple will save that ~30%. The goverment will pocket the 18~28% "premium" commodity tax hike. And the consumers will save at most 50 USD (3700 INR) only during some "sales" events.
Don't get taken for a ride, it's still worlds cheaper to have some friend or family bring an iPhone over from the US. Buying these in India is only for the "bakras".
