its because samsung is listening to their market. all the cheap stuff market is crying for large screens with huge batteries and you can make sacrifices elsewhere, so they deliver on that. basically small phones will have small batteries with less than 100 Hours on endurance and that is abysmal nowadays.

I just hope Samsung dumps it's 9 series junk SoC's and opts for either Snapdragon 690 or MediaTek Dimensity 720. Even it's flagship Exynos 992 cannot match the performance of Snapdragon 865 or MediaTek Dimensity 1000.
