People scroll a lot of times when browsing the internet or apps like Facebook and Instagram. It also makes gaming smoother. Yes it can slow down performance but only a little bit because of powerful chipset.

None of them ever asked for smartphones. Actually, not so long ago 99,99% of people were fine without any phones, they just sent letters and telegraph messages. None of them ever asked for phones. All new technologies are invented and adopted thanks to efforts of 0.01% of enthusiasts. Opinion of most regular people is completely irrelevant, they are always fine with whatever they have and never want anything new and better. The same thing is happening now with high refresh screens.

They just drain battery and only provide smoothness. 60hz is already fine. Human eyes can perceive an maximum of 60hz. They just use it in the UI, which only makes animation smoother and faster. Which is totally not worth it. The use case is only when u scroll through an document with a lot of words then you can read every word on it. High refresh rates drains battery, makes out more power from the chip, makes the screen have a weird tint, drops screen brightness. They are noticeable, but aren't worth it. I would go for an 60hz oled over an 90/120hz lcd everytime. That's why the Iphone 11 series has so much better battery life than even the new androids, they only push touch sampling rate which is useful, but not High Refresh Rate. It is useless.

People are fine with 60hz ,so why go higher? They only drain more battery and make the chip work harder. Can someone explain the usefulness of an High Refresh rate? I did notice the diffference of 60hz and 90hz, but i don't think it is worth it. It is only worth it if you scroll at an app with a lot of contents. So you can see the contents that will be otherwise blurred with 60hz. But in the UI, is not worth the extra battery. Someone explain to me the usefulness of an 90/120hz displays.

i mean there aren&... moreBecause Android "regular" market is already saturated. So some manufacturer create other market. Yes gaming phone should be different than regular phone. Gaming phones should have bigger battery (causing thicker body), better heat sphreader, fast touch response, big display. Better have 3.5mm audio jack too.
Regular phone is also split into 2 markets. One is for practical usage which is smaller in size and slimmer (more compact). The other is for spec enthusiast but thicker (for example because of having bigger camera sensor or periscope).
I like its design, its unique, not like all the other thousands of devices which look all same.
First Asus ROG phones has a unique design as well but with every new model they're moving towards making it plainer then previous model. its a gaming phone, keep it gaming look. dont make it stupid boring looking same like all the other devices.
apart from pubg, cod and fornite why do we need a "gaming"phone?
i mean there aren't enough "mobile games" out there to play
[deleted post]The Battery doesn't need to be 5000 mAh to support 120Hz. Just look at OP8 pro, S20+, Find X2 Pro and similar devices. All of them have 120Hz displays with good battery life, some even at 1440p resolution, and all of them have battery capacity less than 5000mAh. It is less about battery capacity and more about optimization. Find X2 pro only has 4260 mAh battery but has very good battery life.

How ironic is that. Can you share with us how it feels to be called fool by yourself?
In real world usage by the majority of regular everyday users, none of them have ever complained saying screen refresh rate is too slow.
If your eyes and brain are fast enough to see and process as you see in the comparison video, then this will be a problem Lol!
Still good tech to have on a XL sized phone for gaming with massive battery
Gaming vs. regular phones are not really comparable.
Still, the Blackshark is a pretty good phone. Better than the nubia RM 5G. The BS3 may have lower specs, but its build quality is certainly better and the software do not have Chinese translation issue.
We'll wait how color-accurate is that 120Hz panel. S20's accuracy wasn't as great as S10 but it's still fine. OnePlus and Oppo is worse with potential screen burn-in and discoloration.
[deleted post]120Hz IPS LCD yes
Budget phones LCD have screen retention and burn-in issue, poor color accuracy, and more. 120Hz is probably even worse but not enough people owns a phone with that. Realme 6 Pro with 90Hz LCD already has several issues.
People easily fooled by the numbers and not quality.
I'm only very concerned with the iPhone's tiny battery capacity and relatively slow charging.
