Can you charge/discharge more than 10 times before the battery dies?

Impressive stuff but how long would that battery endure?

I'm actually fine with 30W fast charging but I would prefer a larger battery such as 5000 mAh or even 6000 as seen in the ROG phones.

Oppo has debunked this by multiple lab tests showing that fast charging doesn't kill the battery faster, and 15W charging degrates the same rate as 65W charging and 40W wireless charging. (this was 65w though as I said, I want these lab results and tests to be updated with 125W)

If it really does charge 0-100% in 15 minutes, then even a degraded battery is worth it. Let's assume it degrades the battery a lot in 2 years, which it probably won't: A degraded battery that lasts you, say, 5 hours from 100-0% can be topped up again in 15 minutes. At that point it doesn't even matter if the battery is dead, because 15 minutes go by in a heartbeat and then you use the phone for another 5 or so hours. And I'm just making an extreme example.

The only real concerning thing is the lack of phone recycling but this issue is nothing new. Having said that, I still prefer a huge battery with slower charging.

MrTong, 28 Jul 2020It does, actually. Oppo confirms that its 120W charger degrades battery to around 80% healt... moreYes they are using dual batteries.
Besides, if you pit it against regular Li batteries on phones with outdated 18W charging, those phones heat up more because of inferior fast charging technology, thereby degrading faster and are having maximum 350-450 charge cycles on an average.

So even with weak slow charging, they are degrading to less than 80% over a span of 800 cycles or roughly 2 years.

Abady, 28 Jul 2020 NopeIt does, actually.

Oppo confirms that its 120W charger degrades battery to around 80% health after 800 charging cycles.

That's already under ideal conditions and Oppo might have used dual batteries in their phone.

It's not just temperature that kills the battery, it's also the current or stress. That Oppo is already using VOOC tech with low heat production.

Degrades your battery unless using graphene batteries and Qualcomm using the newer version of Quick Charge.

Now that the charging speed got this far,now they should work on increasing the battery capacity.
