Shanti Dope, 29 Jul 2020Just that for 10x the price? How privileged can you be? And I don't give a damn about ... more" modern smartphones now have large screens to the point that they could be considered as
phablets already"

That's the problem, and the point. Big screen when you need it, more thumb friendly screen when you don't. When the tech matures and somebody offers something in a 5.5" screen form factor (folded), then I might buy.

It's a luxury product.
Not for Peas*nts.

Stop hating on the product.
Even if it gets a non destructible screen, you'll still won't have the money to buy it.

Anonymous, 29 Jul 2020> The comments section dont even know who he is. Judging by this "designer's e... moreHe's not just another "sh_tty" designer as you've said, I could assure you. He's pretty well known in the fashion industry inner circle, not so much outside it (which is us, mere mortals who could only adoring high brands such as Hermes / Gucci / Versace / other household high fashion brands).

His style is a mix of exercise in uniform design, shades of grey, and minimalistic 1960s era. And why Samsung chose him? Maybe also because his partner has strong ties with MoMA New York and Vogue US, arguably one of the most powerful fashion magazine in the world. This undoubtedly give Samsung much desirable exposure in the US fashion inner circle, particularly in New York City.
I mean, just look at this logic:
- Thom Browne is a New York fashion designer
- His partner has strong ties with MoMA of New York, Vogue US and its Editor in Chief
- Vogue US headquarter is in New York
- Samsung always held the Unpacked event in New York

And I don't give a damn about a phone and a tablet in one. Needless to say, modern smartphones now have large screens to the point that they could be considered as phablets already, and you might as well just go full blown with a laptop that's much better suited for big tasks instead.
Besides, I ain't paying that much more for inferior durability and nothing truly remarkable to consider. It's just a phone that can be folded. What else is special to it?

Go ahead and s*ck this overpriced unfinished product for the sake of being "first." I'd better wait until the screen no longer gets easily destroyed by a little pressure, and will be as scratch resistant as all current smartphone screens are.
It doesn't matter if I can't buy it or not, because even the wisest trillionaires would rather save their cash and go for a traditional but more polished regular high end smartphone. Privileged ones like you really just seek happiness on bragging your expensive stuff.

People using cheap 50$ smartphones should refrain from judging expensive innovative tech.

It would be nicer if it's Hirohiko Araki, the creator of JoJo.

1. He seem to have connections in the Fashion industry and even the Louvre. He made a JoJo manga with Gucci for goodness sake.
2. LG did a JoJo edition for their LG V30+.
3. He's more well known than Thom Browne that's for sure.

Judging by this "designer's edition" of the Z Fold 2, he's a really shitty designer lmao.
He literally just put the french/dutch flag as a stripe on a phone and charges $400 for that ripoff?

Lol. The comments section dont even know who he is.
Compared to the regular version the price difference isn't so bad, it comes with the new buds and watch.
The Thome Brown team went too minimalistic with this, I wish Samsung would paire up with Versace. That would be worthy of the extra $$

Why's it so expensive?
-Because it folds.

Ah, is it waterproof?
-It folds.

Huh? Can I put a protective glass on the screen?
-It folds.

Uhmm, well how about structural durability?
-It folds.

Owwwkayy, but what exactly does it do better than phones that cost more than thrice?
-It folds, and it has leather casing.

Oh, that's great! But other than being able to fold, what else can it do that an ordinary smartphone can't?
-Uhmmm.....
